My glock has 3 safeties. 1 active and 2 passive. My 1911 has 2 active safeties. Pretty high tech I think.

As far as policy goes, there are some 32,000 gun laws and regulations on the books in the US currently.

Beurecratic policy that goes after the tool obviously has been a colossal failure as has been most other knee jerk reactions to other situations.

When the ideologues actually start addressing the breakdowns in our society and culture that lead to violence then ill stop and listen. Until then the status quo is fine with me. The status quo over the past two decades has resulted in more law abiding citizens being able to purchase firearms and obtain ccw permits over the past few decades than anything else. So I'm fine with the liberals chasing their tails and crying over guns and large sodas. It keeps them occupied and prevents them from doing any real damage.

 

Rhetoric has no home when innocent people die.

Silly no one is taking the guns away from law obeying citizens.

Technology will progress beyond what you described in your Glock or current legislation that gets watered down by the gun lobby. The fact remains that the Status Quo that you described is not working. Children and innocent people are being injured and murdered every day. I suggest you spend a Saturday evening in any large Urban emergency room and look first hand at the gun shot wounds.

What are you waiting for? Someone in your family to acidently hurt themselves?

You suggestion that we look away and forget about it or say it cannot be solved is not how Americans solve there problems.

There is and will be better technology and policy. Frankly people are fed up.

Actually Diane Feinstein is suggesting to take our guns away, and yet she have a conceal carry permit for herself... LOL!

 

Actually she is trying to bring back legislation that expired that limited the size (# of bullets) magazines can hold.

Smart Gun Technology is not ready for prime time. Much improvement is needed. However this seems to be the direction to make it safe from accidential injuries.

I work/volunteer as an EMT for the busiest EMS system in central VA. I treat and transport gunshot wounds, among other things on a near daily basis. I have been shot at by the people I have been called on to help. Being in my position I get to see the culture that breeds violence every day. The same culture that goes unadressed every time some empty suit politician want to pass more meaningless legislation. This is the same culture that is idolized by our youth and makes millions of dollars for the elite left in hollywood.

I have no fear, and my gun(s) are perfectly safe as they are in the control of an educated law abiding citizen.

So how many robbers have you protected us from? Your VIGILANTE fantasy is not what is working.

The status quo is not working.

Safe Policies reach beyond your front door.

What is working is coming up with technology and policy that reduces gun violence.

I only bring that up because you link to a site that mentions it and your gun associations. A gun enthusiest. Great so why obstruct technology that protects innocent children like the Sandy hook Children?

If Smart Gun Technology was invested by his Mother or she secured her guns better from her mentaly ill son she would be alive today and those children also.

When good people make mistakes and sick people get guns innocent people die.

We shall leave it at that. The original poster mentioned guns. Not a solution in my mind.
