I just bought an 09 Prius from the Toyota auction. One owner and all maintenance tracked through Toyota. Seems like a good car, but when I bought it the manual was missing. I'm wondering how I can link up the Bluetooth and if there is a code I would need? I don't want to take the time to go to the dealership unless I have to. Any suggestions?
If you need a code the car will give you a code so you can imput it into your phone. Just make sure you have the discovery setting turned "ON" on your phone...... I think that should work.? Does anyone else have sugguestions?
I'll just say I have the same problem. My phone doesn't discover the Prius 2007 Bluetooth when (I believe) it's engaged. I'm not even sure there's an "on" and "off" for the Prius transmitter. I used to get a message when starting up the vehicle that there were no Bluetooth devices available (at that point I hadn't activated the phone's Bluetooth. Perhaps this problem is resolved in the car starting sequence. Does anyone have some experience with that? Mel
I have owned my 2005 Prius Gen 2 since 12/2004. I have all the original equipment still installed. Everything works fine. I have never had a problem in the past pairing my cell phone to the Prius, until last summer when I upgraded my cell phone to a 2014 Moto e with Android OS KitKat. Now the Prius Bluetooth sees/recognizes the phone, but I get no sound through the Prius system. I suspect that the cell phone is running Bluetooth 2.1 and the version on the Prius is Bluetooth 1.0 or 1.1. In any case, the two Bluetooth versions seem to be incompatible. I am currently checking to see if there is any way to update the Bluetooth on the Prius, but I don't anticipate having any luck with an upgrade. On a computer system, a Bluetooth upgrade usually involves a BIOS update.
