So...I'm drivin' home yesterday and hit my left turn signal when all I get is a fast clicking sound. The light on the dash did not light up at all. Right signal is working fine. Checked it out in the driveway -- my left signal is totally out. No front, rear or dash light when I hit the left turn signal. When I hit the hazard switch, I get only a right blinking light. The right turn signal functions as normal. I thought this was probably a bad bulb so I replaced both the front AND the rear bulbs. Got no love - same results. Any thoughts? 2008 Prius
I had the exact same issue two days ago with mine. Well mine was with the right hand side and did not flash really fast since I have an LED relay. I upgraded to LEDs about a week ago. The fix was to remove the flasher relay and put it back in. Very easy to do. Only takes about 5-10 minutes.
I'm game; heck of a sight easier than replacing the multifunction switch in the steering wheel. Where's it located?
The relay is located behind the dash. The lower left of the steering wheel. 1. Remove the left vent. Just pull it. 2. Unscrew the screw at the bottom. 3. Unscrew the screw below the steering wheel. Its in a recessed hole. Its near the hood release. 4. Pull off the bottom panel. 5. Unhook the rheostat. 6. You will see a metal plate with 3 nuts. Remove nuts. 7. You will see the relays. The one your looking for is at the bottom right. 8. Use a small screwdriver to pull out the tabs on the side. This is the only hard part. 9. remove the relay. Now put back the relay. Test it before you put everything back together. If it works great. If it dont then you may need to get a new relay. How do I pull off the bottom panel? Does the whole thing really pull off after unscrewing the two screws you talked about? I tried to pull the panel off but only the left side panel (of the steering wheel) come off a little bit and the right side (where the FOB key can insert into the car) does not budge at all. I'm afraid of breaking something, so I stopped.
The relay is located behind the panel. After you remove the panel, it's the tan one. If you switch to all LED's you will need to change the relay You can buy the relay here if you need one, Toyota Lexus 8 Pin 12V Electronic LED Flasher Blinker Bulbs Relay Fix
