You got Dendrite sprouts growing in your battery? I ran across this interesting article that might concern L-Ion Prius owners: Futurity.org – Dendrite sprouts short out lithium batteries Specifically it says: "The dendrites may grow large enough to penetrate the separating barrier and touch the cathode. “The moment these touch, the battery is dead,” García says. “Or worse, if you have too much current going through the dendrites while the battery is being charged, the battery can catch fire.”" NOTE: A Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory researcher also contributed to the study, which was funded by Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America Inc.
Yea... It's not any more appropriate there either... I edited that comment to request it be sent to a general discussion area. It's really confusing having so many different forums all talking about Prius...
^^^ I think out of the bunch, the PiP area is most appropriate since it does have a li-ion battery. I do wish there were a general hybrid discussion area that isn't generation or model specific that isn't "news", doesn't really fall under "other cars" or FHOP.
