Folks, Something strange I noticed yesterday at the local Phillips 66 is that they don't have 87 Octane gas. They only have 88, 90 and 92 octane rated ((R+M)/2 Method) gasoline. Is this standard across all Phillips 66 locations? Any pros and cons of putting 88 Octane in the Prius? Any one with experience with this 88 Octane in their Prius long term? Also, FWIW, P66 Mobi claims their gas has more detergent than is required by Palletizers by TopTier: The Original Affordable Palletizer I have been a long-term Mobil 87 user but what made me take a look at Phillips 66 is the above claim. Thanks.
The computers will make the needed adjustments so I doubt you'll notice any difference. What does it cost compared to other brands' 87? If it isn't significantly more expensive try a couple tanks & see what happens.
At that price your FE is going to have to increase 3% just to break even. It won't happen. You'll do better inflating your tires & blocking your grill.
