Just got picked on by a C-MAX!

I had that happen to me when I was driving a rental outside of LA. I assumed I was about to get car jacked and called 911 who somehow setup a road block and put both drivers on the asphalt. I got an earful from the CHP officer when my hometown sheriff called and asked him if he needed any further assistance.

Those guys are a bit nuts. For those not familiar, the noises from the radar/laser detector at the 11 second mark are a laser detection from a Valentine One. His speed got read by the cop unless he had a laser jammer. What's with the two strips near the top of the windshield? Are those laser jammer emitters or something else?

Can you imagine if the cops deployed spike strips and or a chopper? Those guys didn't even have a garage to hide in.

Agree, they are nuts. They put themselves and others in danger.

If the cops end up using choppers, spike strips, roadblock, etc. and get you, you can be sure you'll pulled over w/guns drawn and massive reckless driving ticket, at minimum. Trying to run the cops even in a very fast car, is crazy IMHO. Fast motorcycle would be easier but even more dangerous to the rider.

(Most "high performance" car I ever owned was a 287 hp Nissan 350Z.... definitely not anywhere near the Ford GT in acceleration.)

I have no idea if I might have provoked it. I am not the most attentive driver so I could have easily cut one of them off earlier or something. It turned out they both had outstanding warrants which must have shown when I called in the license plate of the one in front of me. handsfree is a great feature on a mobile phone, albeit distracting more often than not.

 

I almost got car jacked in Mexico, on the highway between Mexico City and Toluca, but I had a security escort following me at the time. The experience made me a little paranoid as well.

Yeah, it takes lots of work sometimes to keep it together. But it will get better as the days, months and even years go by. Keep talking with people you trust and cut yourself a lot of slack. I still can't believe how just one year of combat fucks with us in some way for the rest of our lives. But it does so we have to take care of ourselves to be functional enough to have a decent life. You deserve a good and happy life Wilment I wish you the best. Sorry I'm new here and don't know how to pm this.

AKA "First On Race Day." Used to have that on the rear quarter of my 351C HO powered dirt track Torino. Won the track championship with that car and loved to rub it into the chevy guys.

 

With all the veterans associated with Joint Base Lewis McChord returning from the big war zones, and all the PTSD issues that come home with that, I'm surprised some Tacoma drivers haven't learned to not trigger them.

Maybe he just didn't expect to find a recent war veteran driving a Prius.

One of my favorite Tacoma stories was a couple decades ago. Some wanna-be gang members spotted some skinheads in the Tacoma Mall, figured them to be from a rival gang, and challenged them to a fight. The skinheads declined. The gangsters refused to take 'No' for an answer, and started fighting anyway.

Turned out that the 'skinheads' were off duty Army Rangers from nearby Fort Lewis.
