I've noticed that occasionally, especially in the mornings when its cooler, my EV light won't come on when I expect it to. I will be driving in the ECO part of the ... well I'm not actually sure what you call that gauge but you know what I'm talking about. Anyway I will feel the car go from ICE to EV and if I see the Car display on the touchscreen it will show all power coming from the battery but for some reason the EV light does not come on above the ECO meter for sometimes up to 30 seconds. This is not a big deal, I'm just curious if this is a common problem.

I've seen this too. It seems to happen to me when the accelerator is suddenly released after the engine has just kicked on (after having been sufficiently warmed up). Maybe the engine is still turning for a bit, like when the transmission is in B mode?

You won't see the EV indicator in the mornings because the ICE has to warm up. Once it's warmed up, you will see the EV as usual. I don't like this behavior, but it is normal.

I've had the same thing. With my torque app I can see that my ICE is off but the light is still not on. I can pull up the 5 min consumption and see that I am maxed out on the instant gauge. I have tracked this for over 1/4 mile before the EV light finally shows on the throttle position gauge. It really is weird. Sometimes if I let go of the accelerator it will show up and other times it wont.

My C gives a small "lurch" when it shifts from ICE to EV and back, kinda like driving over a pebble or something. I always glance at the dash and sure enough the indicator has changed when I feel that lurch. I've not noticed any delay.

I've found mine does it the most when I'm in a turn lane.

Scenario: I accelerate under ECO bar mode but go too fast and cross the threshold out of the ECO. Whenever I lift my foot the car will physically drop back into EV but the light won't be on the dash for almost a full minute sometimes. The instant meter will show 100 and my torque app will show the revs at 0 for the ICE. I'll try to take a picture next time I have a passenger in the car. It doesn't bother me, but if I didn't know it was actually in EV mode I would be freaking out trying to get it into EV mode. (I know from the first time I noticed it I tried to get it in EV mode and was getting angry that it wasn't until I looked. :()

Now that you describe it that way, there *are* times when I am certain I am running in EV even though the EV indicator light is not on. As you said, I don't sweat it because I can tell by sound and battery usage that I'm running electric.

oh yeah, I'm pretty sure I've experienced that. Weird isn't it?? I don't know, so does this mean I'm not going crazy?

I can't speak to the crazy part in general, but if this is a sign of your insanity ... then it is shared. :)

As I wrote in my post, this is not that, the engine is shut off as is indicated by lack of engine feeling and the media touchscreen display saying the car is running off battery, as RocMills and others also described on here.

I've started paying attention since this was brought up. What I've seen is that I've been driving for 15 minutes or more and I make a very short engine-off stop, the EV indicator will not come on when I first restart the car. It will drive for a mile or more, using battery only, before the EV indicator will start behaving "normally" again.
