Getting Entune to play nice with my phone (a Nexus 4) is always a project if I want to use the Internet-connected apps (e. g. gas prices, Pandora). Once in a while, if I go into Bluetooth Settings > Paired Device List > My Phone and Disconnect All and then Reconnect All, it might connect to the Entune app. Maybe. Frustrating. More so because, any time I try and fail to connect, the entire Entune system will reboot about three to five minutes later. Anyone have or know any workaround for this? Also, why does it take so long for voice recognition to be available? Seems I need to sit in the car for two or three minutes before I can use that feature. It worked instantly in my '05 Prius.
I never have any issues with the bluetooth connection. Not all phones make work with it. I Wouldn't see why Android phone wouldn't though. Make sure you have the latest version of Entune and Android And yeah at first voice command ins't readily available takes a minute or two I don't use them much not a big deal really.
I have a Nexus 4 also. I think it's too new for Entune. My Droid X worked perfect with the apps. Pandora displayed. With the Nexus 4 my contact pictures do not download and Pandora audio only works. Toyota should down load a update to support newer phones. I bet Tesla does. Any comments Mitch in MA?
Probably starts VR up after everything else and then it has to prep for all the phone contacts. How many contacts do you have in your phone? My HDD system takes a little while but not too long.
Thanks, I saw the other thread with the TSB number (0051-13); that's on my todo list. I've noticed that also fixes the map's "night mode" not working if the map is started while the headlights are already on.
Ironically, it's not that the Nexus 4 is too new for Entune, it seems that the problem is actually that the new Bluetooth stack in Android 4.2 dropped support for a lot of sub-protocols (like MAP) that Entune needs to work properly.
Yeah, I agree. I've heard rumors about an upcoming Nexus 4 firmware update; I have my fingers crossed that it'll bring MAP back to Bluetooth.
