I have the same situation, and afraid to pull down the map light completily and broken a clip, what I do was remove the map light cover and with a pair of bicycle tire removal placed at the edge of the clip and put back the mic.
I see that is in the left side that look not aligned at all. Now let me ask you some questions: 1. Do you keep the USB/3.5 mic on the glove area using the aftermarket radio and the Axxess Ax-toyusb? or what do you do finally? 2. What mic finally do you use?
The map light will snap right back in if you pull it down. I had to pull the map light down, reach up above the microphone and push it back together. Then I just snapped the map light back up. All is well.
I my toyusb cable hasn't arrived yet so I can't confirm that it works. Also the 3.5mm head phone port requires some wire splicing, I haven't done that either. I haven't decided what I want to do with the mic yet. I'll figure that out next week
Just to let all know that Kenwood release for 2013 Navi Double dins with new features mentioned below: Interesting that now have Voice Control using Siri. And with dual camera?, Wifi???? I know something was telling me hold it for later the Navi installation je,je
My items so far for the Aftermarket HU replacement Still missing some wiring and The HU , I go with the DNX690HD (2013)
Got mine in the mail too, looks the same as yours. I haven't tried it yet!! Hmm... I could try it when I get home from work tonight and update here. Also in your picture, it looks like you have two different face adapter plate kits?? I used the one in the bottom of your picture.
Bad news. The TOY-usb cable doesn't fit anything in the dash on the prius C. Here are the pictures I took: This one is of the TOY-usb cable, next to the factory cable that plugs into the actual usb jack that is above the glove box. Here is a picture of the usb end that we see from the outside of the dash, I pulled it out. This is a picture of the backside of the external facing usb factory port. This is where the cable from the first picture was unplugged. This is a picture of what I think is the factory USB cable that plugs into the HU. The TOY-usb adapter does not fit this, or any of the other connections.
Wait wait, the one I have look similar to the 4th photo you posted: but you have the TOYUSB-2 I have the TOYUSB-1 that the connector is different.
In 2013 Metra Catalog I found this - Axxess AX-USB-35EXT: Sorry for the quality since I take it from PC, If this can replace the OEM one I go with that better.
Vdefender - I get a email from Metra, and the rep. indicate that the AX-TOYUSB-1 (the one I have) works for the USB/3.5mm H.J. Now in addition, and for those that plan to install the Axxess ASWC Steering Wheel control, there is a SWC add-on harness w/RCA for Toyota with 28 pin connector (AX-TOY28SWC) - Still need the ASWC. What it does is simply plug and play to the ASWC and the 28-pin Steering wheel plug, so NO CUTTING AND/OR SPLICING cables needed. Metra not have anything yet for the OEM Mic. Now my question is if the mic cables are in the 28-pin, someone can tell me where is located pinwise?
Yep, that all looks good. Apparently I purchased the wrong usb cable, and the wrong ASWC steering wheel plug and play. So I ended up having to cut my steeringwheel control wires out of the wiring harness. I will have to get the TOYUSB-1 ordered then. Thanks!
Can you do me a favor? can you tell me where in the 28-pin is the mic wiring located?? (ex. pinX - color wired)
I found this from a Camry 2012 Hybrid, and that exactly what I need the same thing from the Prius C. According to a webpage the Camry and the Prius is the same. Anyone know if this is the same pin configuration????
I was planning on upgrading my speakers soon... What are good suggestions? Looking to spend around $200-$260ish for a set of two. Also read a few threads saying people's speakers are getting wet? What exactly do you do to prevent this? I need someone to dumb it down for me if possible. Thanks
Not much you can do... I've thought of maybe baffles but they also change the sound. I thought the wetness was causing some drivers side sound cutting out issues but turns out it was my previous head unit. I had a double din JVC previously and just swapped to a pioneer AVH-3500bhs and the problem went away, so I haven't bothered about it since. Very nice HU that pioneer, very pleased. For my front speakers I believe I went with some infinity reference components. Sound great.
