Bought a 2012 PIP Advanced for $31251. Traded in my 2006 Prius. I'm loving the car but a few points I just don't understand. No memory for the power mirrors or power seats??? The A/C system is still enigmatic to me. I think it's also uglier than the 2006 if that is possible. The LED lights are awesome and the car seat heaters are nice. No way the car is worth $40,000. With all the incentives though I had to do it.
FYI the new monthly incentives are out. For those select East Coast states, now there is a $4,000 rebate on the 2013 PiP (base included!). No rebates on the 2012 - unless you lease one then there is a $5,000 rebate. Not sure how they will move those leftover 2012s. No change for CA - still $500 rebate and 0% financing on 2012s.

lol if you wanted memory, you should have gotten a Lexus or an Avalon. A/C – just set a temperature and forget about it. or use the fan control to manually set the speed.
The memory seat is probably something that would have cost Toyota $20 to implement. You have to remember with a MSRP of $40,000 its way into Lexus territory.
Hmm, just went on True Car, and it's showing a $5,000 TFS rebate on the 2012 Base. Hope that's true (no pun intended). that will push me over the edge. Just need to get this blizzard out of the way. (I'm in the Boston area)
See my post above - 0% and $4,000 bonus cash on the 2013 PIP, or this thread, saying $6,500 for 2012 Advanced and $4,000 for 2012 base pip: Central NY PiP deals | PriusChat
lol it is kind of ridiculous that according to the TFS website, the 2013 models get $4k cash back but the 2012s get nothing
the switches alone will cost more than that, but that's beside the point. the point is that they want you to get the avalon or lexus if you want that feature, regardless of how much it costs. the $39k avalon XLE doesn't have memory seats; the $35k XLE Touring and $31k Limited does. also, the pip is still a prius, regardless of price
Ugh I knew I should have bought one last year. All the dealers in Mass used to have internet specials listed around 25k, they're now 28k Can't really justify it for that price
Check out this post for possibly good PiP prices Central NY PiP deals | PriusChat You guys going to Turnersville, I lived there 25-yrs...
True. But I don't think someone will buy a lexus just because they wanted memory seats. I would buy it because overall its more luxurious. Prius markets to a different segment. It just seems like a glaring oversight. Especially for a car with the name "advance" in it. If its so advanced, it should have memory seats!
Yea I would probably only spend more if I could get the PIP though, otherwise I would most likely go with the prius 2. I don't think I'll be doing any financing either, haven't made up my mind though because rates are still so crazy low.
