It is no secret that gasoline prices are on the rise with Regular exceeding $4.30 per gallon in Manhattan and Los Angleles. They say the best day to purchase gas is on a Wednesday. The worst is on the weekend. The survey is to see how you compare against other Prius owners. The information is acutally gathered by your Prius and displayed. 3 tips to beat rising gas prices - Yahoo! Autos
Well, November - April I spend about $120/month, but that can be more if I go up north to the cabin (220 miles one way). Mid April - October, Im using the boat (278 Four Winns Vista with twin 4.3l v6 EFI engines & a 4kw Kohler genset!). The boat gets 1-1.5 nautical mpg and holds 120 gallons of mid-grade fuel. We are out on the boat every weekend, rain or shine (why not? I pay for the boat year round!) and we go on a few big boat trips (80+ miles each way) with our boat club 1-2x a summer. So yeah, $120 per month during the boating off season but easily during boating season my gas expense alone for the boat can be $600/month (worth EVERY penny though!)
A lil bit But I live right on beautiful Lake St. Clair so my dockage is free (well sorta...lol). Plus I cut corners any way I can. I gas up at my seawall using a gas caddy, and purchase my gas from Costco or Sams, which is a huge savings over buying gas at a gas dock. Even still, at 1-1.5mpg, I burn through gas like crazy.
I get a break on gas prices - our local grocery store gives 10 cents off a gallon for every $100 you spend... saved 50 cents per gallon when I first moved to New England... which was good for the truck. For what I put into the Prius there are days I could use the lawn mower gas can... My vote only includes the Prius as the truck tends to sit unless needed for hauling or bad weather and have not had much of either here.
Gas is just getting crazy now almost $4.50 per gallon, it was $3.39 a few months ago. Glad I purchased a Prius hardly notice it.
That is crazy and what 250,000 million cars on the road in the USA no wonder Exxon Mobil is the largest company in the world. Much of that oil money goes to countries that hate the USA also. It is th greatest wealth transfer in history.
Sometimes $0.00 as I can usually go six weeks between fill ups. During my last fill up in January, premium was 3.37 so I spent $27 which averages out to $4.50/week for gas.
This is only one of the very good reasons for people to use less of the stuff. Perhaps we should start charging Exxon a fee for using our military to try to keep oil producing parts of the world calm.
We live in interesting times. Much of gasoline goes toward transportation and with the mass adoption in the USA of Hybrid and the rapid advancement of EV technology and the acceptance of telecommution we may see North America energy self sufficient. Plenty depends on current trends acclerating.
Well going on the conversion of 1 US Gallon = 3.785 litres, here in the UK our petrol/gas costs us £5.03 per US Gallon (roughly £132.9/L ATM). Diesel is between 7-10p/L more. Luckily I only use around £60 per month
Hmm cannot vote in the survey. Then again I'm driving most of the time on green electricity ;-) I'm averaging about $10/month.. I average 2-3 gallons a month depending on how many longer trips I take.
