car wont start, signal light stuck on

    My dad says hes stuck somewhere with his 2010 prius,, he says it wont start, and the signal is stuck on....

    Poor guy just got the car today and it died on him...

    I think his 12v battery is dead somehow... not sure...

    he says his trunk wont open, so I suppose that means his 12v is dead???
    how would you open it to change the battery?

    apparently he called a cab to try and jumpstart it... I hope he doesnt screw it up... I showed him videos, and explained it several times... but, hes fairly absent minded sometimes.

    He calls me because he was trying to jumpstart it through the trunk and couldent get it open... I think im gonna pull my own hair out hahaha

    so apparently his girlfriend turned the heater and stuff on while in accessory mode and drained the battery...

    Seems after being jump started the car seems to be ok...

    Yup, the 12v was too dead to start it. Your dad should be suspicious of that battery now and may even consider replacing it since it is a 2010.

    Total agree on replacing battery, better safe than sorry! :)

    yeah we will do... wish there was a way to test the battery but since he has no screen I dont think we can

    You can buy a volt-ohm meter/multimeter.
