Prius c Steel Wheel Specs

    I thought I had read it somewhere but I could be mistaken. The Plug In Prius wheels weigh just over 18lbs so anything is possible. I still feel confident they are 15lbs+-1. LOL

    I have a C 3 with 15 inch alloys, they weigh 31.4 pounds (wheel and tire)

    I'm getting winter tires put on the steel wheels hopefully soon, if they ever get them in. I'll be looking for wheels very soon too, and will consider another set of steelies if the $:weight ratio isn't worth it. I'm thinking 4lbs/wheel would be worth it. If anyone gets them, it'll be interesting to see what kind of improvement it does mpg wise.

    Just installed Michelin winter tires on 17.5 lb. rims. May lose a little in fuel mileage but will gain in the safety side when in the snow... I will take safety anytime... I did get 61.8 mpg yesterday on a 45 mile trip at 55 mph ... temps in mid 50's so as it warms it gets better ....

    Actually, I think there is only one tire option for the model Three which would be 17lbs. Add in weights, TPMS, dirt and crap and the wheel is probably 14lbs-14.5lbs.

    Just a note the 16" Prius C alloys and tires weigh 37.6 lbs. Tire Rack shows 19lbs for the tires??

    Hi Lenwood. Did your stock 175/65x15 tires fit your new 15x6.5 rims? Just curious.

    sometimes steel,wheels will have the offset stamped in the back side; alloy wheels always do.
    OEM wheelsI believe is 45 mm. the alloy wheels are 53 or 54 mm offset. if you change wheels you can safely go w=down to 45 mm. below its risky with OEM or bigger diameter tires. the bolt circle is 4x100mm, lugnuts are 12x1.5 threaded nuts (do not specify by wrench size) and hub bore is 68 mm. make sure the spoke dish of replacing wheels will clear the calipers; some won't. The lugnuts may be tapered seat or ball seats so be sure.
    ps you can measure the offset by determining the distance from the backside flange to the hub mounting surface and subtract a half inch width of flange then subtract half the rim width,(2.5") from thatand you have the offset. btw an inch is 25.4 mm
    it requires precision so don't be sloppy. and the offset is the distance from the wheel centerline to the hub face. and try to stay close to the OEM tire diamete; if youre going to wider tires a quarter-in, even a half inch less diamweter will be beneficial. it won't change your speedometer or odomer readings enough to know but it will hep acceleration and mpg.

    I've got Heliums ready to go on but looks like C's need hub centric rings w/ aftermarket wheels? There's a big gap to the wheel hub... 73 mm to 54.05 mm ?
