ICE in EV Mode ... Again

Yeah that's why this comes up. Obviously you don't use it in day to day driving.

 

I have never ran into that problem.

 

i know, i think it's only hit a few of us who try to drive all ev and have a downhill shortly after leaving the charging area in 40's and lower temps.

 

+1 for unlucky one with a steep downhill, and mornings in 40s (in Cali no less)

 

SJ, have you used the neutral trick?

 

An important caution, if you go downhill in neutral, the brakes are only friction= quicker wear.

 

mine is only a 40-50 foot drop over 1000 feet. i don't even need to brake. but i prefer to keep experimenting and trying to keep the ice off while still in drive. so far, it hasn't come on since last sunday, so, this sunday morning is the big test.

 

imagine, people used to brake like this all the time back in the day. so 1990's.

 

Most people still do.

. We are still a small minority. Most people are unaware of: stop/start, ICE, (except for Highballs), regeneration, HV , EV and 100 mpg. Plus much more.
