Something looks off to me... looking in the combined spreadsheet, your Gal. (column I) entries are all over 100 and MPG in column T are 600 or over 1000 when Raw MPG in column F is between 30 and 39.
i just multiply the car value times 1.15. it's not exact, but an average of what everyone is getting with the meter.
I see what you mean. Most everyone else's Column D and Column I are close to the same. My entries in Column I are the running total gallons (since I bought the car in November) that are displayed on the HSI. The gallons I pumped per fill up are entered in Column D. I'll leave it alone until someone has good counsel.
Yes, thank you. Those entries in Column N are the cumulative HV miles (for the life of the car) that display on the HSI. Same for the EV entries in column L. Looks like I made the same mistake with gas in Column I ?
each entry should reflect the stats for that one fill up. so every line has i's own fill up date and related stats. nothing is lifetime on this spreadsheet.
Jonas, Columns G-N should be recorded for the Tank of Gas, then reset at fillup. Why did you fillup 3 days in a row? Are you only driving 4-5% EV miles, as you listed? The Table average is 47% EV miles. I adjusted your Columns I, L & N.
Why do I fill up? To avoid walking! EV is up to 5% after today. I'm largely a highway driver, but today I did a bit of tooling about town (without a fillup). Plus, it's been COLD out there. I did better when it was warmer in early November when I bought her.
Ken said: Columns G-N should be recorded for the Tank of Gas, then reset at fillup. I'll fill up again by Wednesday morning. How do I ascertain on the HSI the per tank metrics as opposed to the cumulative #s ?
FYI - today I traded in my pip for the RAV4 EV, so I won't be adding any more info to the spreadsheet. Thanks for your diligence and time you put into putting the spreadsheet together
wow, that was quick. are you keeping another second car? what is it? or do you never plan on traveling more than 100 miles?
no plans to go over the range (when it is full it says 124) - in the past 3 years, I have only driven once from bay area to southern California- I was getting frustrated with the PIP because I loved to use it mainly electric, but charging up every 10 to 12 miles was driving me crazy - so now I am grateful that I won't be charging up so frequently on my longer trips . . . and it is nice to have more space.
Congratulations and enjoy the car! While I don't really have a commute, I can't imagine a car with such a short range. Just yesterday I drove up from LA to Berkeley. Winter is here and there will be at least 3-4 trips to Tahoe, 180 miles each way. The 124 miles it's showing you is probably close to the 13 miles the pip originally shows – only attainable if you drive very gently.
congrats on the rav4ev! if you have time, please keep us posted in the ev section, your thoughts and review of the car as you go along. also, if you don't mind sharing, what did they give you for the pip? thanks janie, all the best!
If you didn't Reset the Trip or EV values after the last Fillup, subtract the last values you recorded from the current values and use them in the MPG Spreadsheet. Then Reset Trip B and EV 2 and use them for your Fillup Data next fillup.
Jonas, What is your usual daily drive? distance, speed, hills, stops? Can you charge the PIP at home and at your normal destination?
It varies. Home office, but travel days are in the 100s of miles. Highway. Maine is rural up north, with a 75 mph speed limit on I-95. (So we go 82.) I'll plug it in when home pretty much every night, if it needs the charge, which it usually does.
You're right, northern Maine is sparse. My brother got married in Caribou and the trees were short. I escorted a Motorcoach last year thru Maine to Saint John. Hard to find a Restaurant between Bangor and the border.
