This is the first Model S I've seen, and it's in the wild (in the parking lot at work).

    Beauty! Thanks for posting.
I heard one was spotted in downtown Minneapolis, MN a week ago. Can't wait to start seeing more.

Looks like the pearl white, obviously a Signature model since the rest aren't out yet. They also opted for the 19" rims, so probably not a performance model.

Pretty sure I'm not going to get to lay my eyes or hands on a Model S until my very own arrives. Just like with my Prius 9 years ago.

There are quite a few Florida reservation holders, hopefully you will be seeing them soon.
I am thrilled to say that I now see one many mornings when I open our garage!

Lol. That beemer driver started after the tesla, he sucked. Not that this test or 2 out of 3 times makes a difference. I don't think anyone is going to be worried the tesla S is too slow with the performance option. Its probably more fun to drive than that bmw too:)

That "race" was barely one step above the Prius owners that brag about beating cars at the stoplight when the person in the other car didn't know it was a race.

The Tesla S is a great car, why fake a race like that?

Ask the magazine. However, I don't think the race was "faked".
I suspect the M5 driver mistimed the launch control procedure.
In any event, the torque available to EVs is phenomenal. The more EVs and PHEVs we see that can give this experience the better.

I saw the video they ran, no need to ask them anything. Whether it was faked or they just chose to run video of a flawed race, it was a poor choice. At the start an M5 has all the torque at the rear wheels that the tires can handle, so any EV phenominality is irrelevant.

The decenber 2012 issue of Motor Trend mag has a story of the MT staff doing a long range test of the model S.
I seem to remember they made about 230 miles on a charge. The EPA number was 265, but these guys used it a bit hard, still 230 miles on a charge is good, right ???

That's good if they were driving it like they usually drive cars.

I FINALLY saw my first one in the wild (not at their stores) in the past week or so. It was a black one parked at Walgreens.

Oddly, in the last few days, the sightings have gone way up. I saw a red and silver one today. The other day I saw a white one. Red and white one were sorta in my area. The silver one was in Cupertino.

I saw a White Model S drive by near the Airport Blvd area in Livermore, CA about 3 weeks ago. I was thrilled to see it! Best looking EV ever!

I almost put a deposit down on the 31st. I have seen a couple of roadsters here, but I don't think the S has made it to austin yet.

There are a few in Texas, but the auto dealers there are being VERY difficult with Tesla and their unique distribution system and it's slowing deliveries a bit. But they're around.
