Good for GM and the public. More and better hybrid and EV choices makes for better competition.

We still have a few more years before the true reliability of this vehicle will be known.

Off topic, but can someone remind what Chevrolet's sales goal for Volt 2012? Looks like they will make 22k units sold for end of the year. I hope it's not fake like half of them sold to fleets or SLT.

I see Volts around here once in a while and I'm always happy to see one. Hey, if owners are very satisfied, that's great! The more good electrified cars, the better.

Goals for this year were restated in Jan 2012 as seeking to "match supply to demand", i.e. moving away from numeric goals.

In 2010 they had set a goal of 45K for 2012.. clearly too optimistic but setting goals 2 years in advance in an uncertain economy is error prone.

Last repors I recall fleet/commercial sales were ~6%.

I noticed that the newest car on Voltstats.net has a VIN sequence of 21213 for the 2013 model year so at least that many 2013 Volts/Amperas have been made and distributed so far.

It seems like competition is just starting to heat up in the plug-in (hybrid, EREV) market. 2013 should be a lot of fun to watch.

Too lazy to look, but is the PiP and Volt available in all 50 states?

Volt is available nationwide. I suspect that PiP is still in limited distribution although it is likely being sold in the states where sales are expected to be highest.

Volt, Leaf, Tesla S, c-max energi all nation wide. The last 2 have limited distribution though, as they ramp production. Prius phv is still restricted to CARB states, and Toyota's only commitment to nation wide is end of 2013.

They don't sell them in Florida, Texas, or Ohio which are top plug-in states. Toyota has manufacturing in Texas and Ohio.
