Multiple warning lights came on - 12v battery related?

    Jump start packs are very useful but tend to be heavy and to large to fit in the storage tray under the boot floor. The other problem with them is they need to be put on charge on a very regular basis or like all lead acid batteries they will self destruct if left in a partially charged state.

    Jump starting another car from a Prius although not recommended can be done safely by first connecting the two vehicles the correct way round, then putting the Prius in ready mode for about 10 mins to charge the other battery. Then turn off the Prius disconnect and start the other car.

    ^ Ours will fit in the undertray, but I agree: it is a bit of a weight penalty, over 20 lb. I might for example have it in the car if parked at an airport for extended time, other than that I leave it in the garage, just haul it out for emergency use.

    I could not find a jump start pack in the UK that would fit in the tray.

    I do have a pack but it is kept in my shed on charge. I like you do put it in the car if I park at the airport "rare these days since I retired" but do find it useful for blowing up my tyres then use a digital gauge to set the pressures.

    Barry glad to hear your vehicle is up and running again. And good to hear about the positive wire and you're gaining access without a lot of trouble.

    The really good news is that with my measures yesterday, it started up fine today. Was only down to about 12v after sitting overnight. Got the new battery and everything is working nicely.
