If they only made the CT a little bigger perhaps the CT-V.

That was my problem, I just couldn't see losing 10mpg for several thousand more dollars just to get a fan in the back and a tad better ride.
I felt the acceleration was worse.
They say it's 8.3 seconds... Maybe the longer hood made it feel slower.

Plus I really missed the extravagant EV/hybrid readouts in the prius.
It's almost like they are still trying to hide that it's a hybrid to keep the conventional luxury look.

I agree. I like a little more car around me as I get older.

If I remember right, it has a trunk space.. That always eats up living space.
It also has a more conventional dash which kills living space.

When you can see some free air in front and way behind it makes the driver feel less boxed in... Another reason suvs may be popular.

Yep I agree. The back seat of the CT buts up to the hatch. It is like a smart car with back seats. Too small for my liking. By the way Marty Feldman in Youg Frankenstein was one of my favorite movies. Amazingly funny.

I really didn't feel it was that smaller inside, I sat in the latest and greatest model at the LA Autoshow. Honestly though i didn't sit in the back seats though. The trunk felt substantialy smaller but I think that was an illusion created by a much smaller "hatchback" trunk open when you look in. I was really digging the trackpad setup for the Computer and the feel and layout of the cockpit...

I parked next to one today. The CT may be smaller than the Prius C. I say may. It looked about as big as one. Definitely nice inside above the front seats. It reminds me of a Mini just that small. I felt boxed in tht car. Just to tiny. Almost unsafe feeling.

The long hood kills lots of living space.

I noticed tesla did that too.. People like the security of having a battering ram between them and the object of impact.

I expect even the tesla could open up much more living area since there's no need for an engine compartment... Will be interesting what they come up with.

Psychologically its hard to have a "sports car" without the hood... People just expect it.

Funny how our paradigms block marketing a better product.

the rear hatch area is definitely smaller, it's no illusion.
while the EPA cargo volume estimates are pretty off-the-wall (they basically assume that hatches don't slope down and are just a rectangular box), the pip is rated 21.6 cu ft while the CT is rated 14.3 cu ft.

I once had an AMC pacer.
Felt really big inside due to do much glass and no straight down edges.

Terrible suspension and laughed at for looking like a pregnant rollerskate. But was roomy inside!
