Texas is not on the 2012 list. In other states there are incentives to buy etc but not even offered in texas? Where do you guys recommend me going? Would be nice to drive or at least not have to drive far. Erica with marketing suggested good incentives in California but is there a better place? And if you buy in another state, do you have to register it in that state before you can legally drive it to your home state? Alan... The second mouse gets the cheese! galaxy S3 with Tapatalk 2
Last I looked, the East Coast had some of the best PiP pricing from Toyota/Toyota Financial Services. Some of the dealers don't want to hassle with out of state buyers. Check to see if your local Texas Toyota dealer will service a PiP before they roll them out in Texas. You don't have to register in the other state, especially if you are having the vehicle delivered to Texas. The dealer, in or out of state, is obliged to collect the sales taxes and remit them to Texas, 6.25% I believe. I had a Volt delivered from Florida this past summer and everything worked out pretty easy between the Florida dealer and Texas registration, taxes, and title. If you have it delivered to Texas rather than driving it back, I would recommend having it delivered to your Toyota dealers lot and leverage your local service department to inspect the vehicle upon delivery.
Many have gone to NY, MD, NJ, MA possibly VA. If you check out the price paid for PiP thread, many ideas there. If you need assist, send me a PM and I will give you a summary of the some dealers I have heard here over the last couple months. Quite a few here on the DC Beltway, and the drive is not impossile to TX with a one night stay in motel. One time we moved to Louisiana and we made the drive with a bunch LSU folks heading back from a game. OK well depends a little where you are in Texas.
According to their website, Toyota will sell the PiP to the general public in 2013. But not specifically when in 2013.
Good info John, thanks!.. I will check.. I know the prius service manager pretty well now! Alan... The second mouse gets the cheese! galaxy S3 with Tapatalk 2
You've been gone way too long Alan lol. Dianne works at Carson Toyota in California and is truly a wonderful person in addition to being THE person to goto when looking for a Prius if you live in the SoCal area. (And even further to be honest.)
She's among the very best. I bought my plug-in from her, never having to leave Minnesota. It was a great experience.
Opps sorry, even after you reminded me I still can't remember! Sorry Diane, did I meet you in Detroit? I won't ask what you we're wearing... You'll have to send me a pic! I'm sure that will jog my memory! Alan... Sent with Tapatalk 2
I've never been to Detroit. Right now I am wearing a big grin and have a leather office chair stuck to my as... er, tail end, I am so swamped. Good thing but 'zausting this time of the year. BTW thanks guys/gals! You warm my heart!
(Go East) There are offers there. (Go East) In the frozen air. (Go East) Priced like Prius Three (Go East) It's your destiny.
Lol! That must be because it was already in your head... Now it's in mine... Thank you very much! Alan... Sent with Tapatalk 2
Why wouldn't I want to buy in WV, is the incentive expired there? Seems its the biggest. Alan... Sent with Tapatalk 2
I don't think you will be able to take advantage of the credit without a WV tax liability equal or greater than the incentive.
