Anyone have any idea? So close to a deal tonight but would hate to lose out on 500 or so in possible additional incentives.

Do you have to have a new car today?

    If yes, then buy.
    If no, then wait.

    5000$!!!
I'm in California, we are not seeing anything near 5000 off.
Last deal was 40858 sticker, after 1500 tfi 36422 with a 19367 residual monthly payments 527 with 15k a year.
    OR
    41696-1500tfi 37496 residual 19400 569 per month 15k miles!
    Don't know which to chose!

choose to purchase in the east and drive it home! otherwise, i would look around to see how many 12's are on the lots. the 13's are coming and if there are a lot of 12's, the discounts will probably keep getting larger.

discounts in CA have fluctuated. September gave us $500, October $1500, November $1000. Dianne only has about 8 cars left on her lot at this point – I doubt they will be sweetening this deal any further.
Lease gets an additional $500 off but then the dealer gets to play with some funny math and you are no longer eligible for the IRS rebate – so not clear whether the added discount is worth it.
(just to compare the two above offers: first is 527*36+19367=$38,339, second is $39,884 total, that seems like a pretty crappy discount. with the first offer, if you don't buy the car after the lease, you're looking at paying $18,972 over those three years. that's insane – do you really think the car will lose that much value in just 3 years? that's nearly 50% of the cost!)

Not better. And, we're all running out of the base models quickly.

By the way, in SoCal, regions knows we're all pretty much sold out of the base models. I gathered like crazy last month to ensure we had plenty of cars thru Dec 2012 with incentives but I couldn't gather enough base models to last me thru the holidays.

If they sweeten anything, I hope it's the advanced package cars which are a little more plentiful right now. :)
Arek, we've talked. I wish I knew what to advise you. I'd advise a 2012 - and not a 2013 due to the current $1500 incentives and your lease rate being so darn low. I just don't know what else they can do but even if they raise the cash rebate - and that's a huge IF - they will undoubtedly drop the residuals so you're in the same spot for payment.

I won't be able to sleep tonight. How early do you get the new incentives tomorrow?

Some dealers are sold out of PiP (especially the Base models). However, some still have a bunch of them per their web site inventory. I heard the incentive until end of the year would be the same. The dealer with the most in their inventory will likely give you the best deal.

Maryland Zip gives the same deal...4000 for the base, 5000 for the advanced.

Well....I just called another dealer in Northridge and looks like TFI is $1,000 across the board? This this correct or just a mis informed salesperson? Maybe he was looking at the TFI for purchase not lease? As you all know, the TFi for leasing a basic is $1,000 and for the advanced its $1,500?

The cash incentive for purchase is now just $500 while the lease is $1000. I doubt you can get a good lease on this car in CA, there are just not enough vehicles given the demand. For the lease, you're looking at $16k over three years, I can't imagine the car's value dropping that fast.

Agree, at least in N. Cal I've heard $500 cash incentive.
    I have these offers today:
38,980 for 2013 Blizzard Pearl PIP Advanced
37,650 for 2012 Clearwater Blue PIP Advanced

I guess that 2013 isn't worth $1,330 more so I will probably drive home a blue 2012 PIP advance this evening.
I'll update with confirmed numbers when I'm done.

Any last minute advice for me? Other than avoid paying more than ~$600 for extended warranty (aka don't buy it)?

    Thanks!

Guys, you don't need to take anyone's word on this. Just go to buyatoyota.com and get the info straight from the horse's mouth.
My advice would be to get the car back east. You can save at least $4k over the prices you're being offered here. Check out the pricing spreadsheet, it's linked in the FAQ that's in my sig.

What is the sticker for the two cars you mention above?

And can we buy the car from the east without actually going there to sign all the paperwork?
    Please advise.

Some people have done that, yes. Hopefully they can chime in on this thread.
