    Why would you reject the smart meter? Like you said, it doesn't obligate you to change to a TOU rate plan

    I dont know if any of its true. Personally, I find it hard to believe. But I'm no expert. There were a bunch of people in my area who were opposed to cell towers being too close to their homes as well. I thought it was just radio waves.. which are everywhere. But again, I'm no expert.

    Isn't this in the 802.11 spectrum? So basically just as bad (or less) than wifi?
    And aren't most meters outside?
    Anyway, since I'm in an apartment and the meters are in the garage 4 floors below me, I'm not too concerned.

    I personally think the health concerns with smart meters are paranoid tin-foil-hat crowd stuff. I would think that the "radiation" from megawatt broadcast TV stations would be stronger than the brief WiFi-type transmission every hour or so from the smart meter outside your house.

    But this IS California.... :rolleyes:
