Cool, thanks for sharing this Sean, I didn't know there was that level of detail involved with the PLUS ground effects kit . Are the rivets included with the kit?

Yes. All mounting hardware is included. They also include the alcohol pads to wipe down the bumpers. What's not included is the drill, drill bit & rivet gun........but then I'm guessing u knew that.

 

Struggling like a mofo with what's supposed to be the easiest part lol.

 

Take your time and know when to take a break. Gives you time to think before you screw something up.

 

Agree totally with F8L, make sure you allow at least double the time you think you'll take. Just like working on home projects....

And also always read/scan the instructions! About the time you think you know it all, that's the time when things blow up!

No instructions? Then how do the Toyota techs install w/o instructions? I'm sure if you contact the dealer they would be able to make a printout for you.

 

Then triple the allotted amount of time. LOL

Yes, no instructions are included with the plus kit. The plus kit is a port installed option so the techs & the dealer have prob never installed these.

Besides, we're a bunch of macho guys......we don't need instructions!

 

I just bought a 2010 winter gray prius and want to get the kit, but the only kits I'm finding online are all labeled 2012. I'm assuming the body style and dimensions haven't changed so it will fit, but I just wanted to check and see if anyone has confirmed that the 2012 kit will fit a 2010

if you can afford it, the 5axis kit only fits 2010-2011. some of us wanted it for the 2012 but sol!

 

U can get the kit at any dealer. U can order it pre- painted (if it made in ur color) or un-painted.

 

For the Toyota Ground Effects Kit any dealer can order for you its in the TRD catalog. They are available prepainted for some of the paint colors. I checked with my local dealer Sierra Toyota in Lancaster and the kit painted in Winter Gray was a little less than $ 1000.00. The Five Axis kit is available from Juiced Hybrid or a couple E Bay sellers painted for about $ 1500.00 painted Prius Body Kit, Prius Ground Effects, 5 Axis body kit for prius or $ 900.00 unpainted

Ive heard that the Five Axis kit is a great fit and is only 4 pieces there is also a You Tube video of install at a Toyota Dealer

 

Thanks for the links for the other kits available. I'm looking for the OEM kit only, there is a dealer that sells them on ebay for a reasonable price but they are labeled 2012 and when I asked them they said the kit doesn't exist for any years prior to 2012. I know the front bumper differs when going from 2010-2011 to 2012, so I'm pretty sure I've seen pictures online with the front air dams on a 2010-2011 model, I just can't seem to find a place to actually buy it. (aside from maybe trying a local dealer, and I have a feeling they would offer me a terrible price)
