What is the best way to mount an iPhone5, attached to the vent in the Prius Gen III? Most generic vent mounts work with vents that have horizontal slits. The Prius vent is different. I already have a case for my iPhone 5. But is a very snug case (Seidio Surface). The mount will need to have somewhat adjustable way to hold the (slightly larger) iPhone 5. Thanks.
Tetrax mounts strong and looks nice. The cleverly designed magnets do not mess with your iPhone compass. See the YouTube demos.
proclip has some iphone 5 mounts. I have had the iphone 4s mount and my dad has the galaxy s3 mount. I have a iphone 5 now so will be getting a mount sooon form proclip. they are great quality.
Does the Tetrax system require the use of their case? I am already using a different non-metallic case and holster.
Which specific mount from them is fitting the Prius vents? Could you post a URL or some pictures of the mount attached to the vent?

Thanks. Very helpful. Tetrax is good too, although I'm not sure how well the base holder will be attached to the vent by the two prongs (unless the prongs hook to the back of the vent fins).
I found this the other day: New Toyota Prius 2010 2012 Cup Cell Phone Holder Holder Exclusive Accessory JDM | eBay Its made to fit just the Prius and even textured to match the oem dash surface.
If you put the prongs over the vent an screw the top to the right the prongs clamp down as hard as you twist. It's metal and very sturdy. I use the Geo for $25 on Amazon. But I may try the Xway.
I know the Rokform cases have an adaptor to mount your phone anywhere, you may want to check them out.
I got a panavise mount that attaches to the area near the shifter...under $30 shipped. Much more steady than a vent mount.
I put together one using a large binder clip, a rubber band, and some gaffers tape. Works great on the center vents with my iPhone5 and looks fine when the phone is in it (a little cheesy when the phone is out). I got the instructions from LifeHacker. Total cost was about $7, and I ended up with enough clips and rubber bands to make like 20 of them.
