What did you do to ur Gen III Prius today????

Waxed by Prius yesterday, was such a nice day out. Also got rid of the black door moldings the previous owner put on it. I hate those things, they just trap salt in there in winters and that's where they'll begin to rust.

 

Added sharkfin antenna and light-smoke tints to the tail lights this weekend

Tip: if you are thinking about doing this, do NOT get it pre-cut. This would have been much easier with a large sheet to work with.

 

Thanks!! The wheels are just the stock rims with the caps removed. I'll think about getting new rims/tires when i need to replace the tires.

I also wrapped the roof and side mirrors in 3M 1080 carbon fiber wrap. it's a wip.

 

Oh that's interesting. I just pulled the caps off my 2010, but I didn't even recognize them! Too bad mine aren't black, I like it!

Lightly smoked tails look good, I am not a fan of blacking them out.

Matt, you can plastidip your silver wheels pretty cheaply.

 

wha'ts the material for carbon fiber wrap ? is it glossy carbon fiber ?

 

It's definitely not flat... but not a high-gloss either. Check out the pics in my album for a better look at it, you can also order a sample from most places. I did my homework and the 3M 1080 is the way to go (opposed to 3M Di-Noc). Especially if you plan on wrapping around curves. I have a friend who is a 3M certified installer and he also recommended the 1080.

I've had it on my car for a little over two weeks now and it still looks great. I do keep my car in a garage while at work and home though... plus if it ever fades i'll just wrap it again!

I also have misc. interior items wrapped in it. It's a wip so when i am done i'll be taking pics.

I finally went to the gas station. Put some gas in my Prius. That's what I did to my Prius today.

 

Watchingthetides- We negotiated at the dealership and got those for free with our prius when we traded in the accord. I really like them, they look and work excellent!
