Purchased Pip on 10/10. License plates arrived on 10/18. I sent application form on 10/19. I'm hoping an 8 day turnaround to receive plates is a good sign that the DMV is twiddling their thumbs with nothing to do and we'll all be getting our stickers much less than 30 days.

How long of a turnaround time?

I dropped my application off at the post office 10/6. They just cashed my check this week. I'm hoping to get the sticker either tomorrow or Saturday...keeping my fingers and toes crossed.

On a positive note, I received the $1,500 check from California this week!

I haven't received my $1500 from CA yet, but they have approved it a couple weeks ago.

I submitted my application PRIOR to getting my plates (I wrote "new vehicle" in the plate area). I recieved my plates first, then a about 10 days later I recieved my stickers. I waited about 3-4 weeks for the plates.

Hmm.. so one can apply before the registration papers arrive? Dealer was saying DMV wont entertain till plates. I guess I should try.

You don't need the plates, but you DO need to know the plate number. Now, it is possible that you run across some ambitious DMV staffer who is willing to hold on to the application and dig the plate number out of the DMV system when it becomes available. But that is not very likely.

Just got my license plates. On the application do we need to put anything for statement of fact?

Also, how about a clear protective film over the front and rear bumpers before putting on the stickers so I can easily remove both in 2015? Any links?

Nope, that's for replacement stickers in case of theft or accident.

Thanks, thats what I thought, but wanted to double check that I dont need the contract or something.

And how about going to DMV, does that speed the process up at all vs mailing it, or just few days?

Actually you can't. You have to mail it in. It gets processed at a special center.
