See if you can find pink pipe wrap. That may deter him from driving it :D

I'm using 1/2". Fits perfectly. Don't need any tape to hold it in place.

I got to enjoy the the weather here in SoCal: 80+ degrees, no need for grille block or anything.

    Sorry, I couldn't resist.

I went with the 3/4" as the only 1/2" they had was significantly more expensive. Only cost under 3 bucks, no I'm not sweating it if it doesn't work out. My next decision will be how to apply... I have enough to experiment some, so I'm wondering... one solid piece across each segment, or cut them up into 4" bits that fit into each space.

Were you able to find pink or some other neat color your hubby wouldn't want?

Naw, no special colors. They had grey and grey, not even black available. Since I do not plan to glue these into place, if I run into some of the colored noodle floater things, I might give that a shot.

Okay, so far I have only blocked one horizontal area (I ran out of daylight) and I went with individual bits rather than one long piece. That being said, I think even with that little blocked I have already seen a positive impact on mileage. The drive this morning was WAY better in terms of MPG than it has been since the weather started to turn. It may not be "pretty" but I don't think it's ugly, either. Besides, how many people are staring at the front grill of my car to start with?

Post pictures when you get time. I am about to buy some and put it in our grille. I found the $ Tree here is not carrying the stuff now, out of season. I will get the color I want next summer and be ready.

I'll try to get a pic of the one row when I make my post office trip today.

Since your piecing it together maybe you could come up with a colorful pattern that looks neat? A set of teeth with lips comes to mind [IMG]

Ok, you bought the smallest, for 1/2 inch copper? I just looked at some but was unsure of the size and don't have the car here to check it.

I drove through Sandy in NY state. Cars had 20' sideways plumes of water coming off them on the highway. On the plus side, the C was very stable in the high winds. Only had a few very strong gusts where I needed strong grip on the wheel.

I bought the 3/4" ... the only 1/2" they had was, for some reason, way more expensive. I got these for 97 cents per six foot piece.

Preliminary results of partial grill blocking... mileage improved 5-15 MPG, though is based on only 3 trips. Will add the photo I took a few minutes ago as soon as I can figure out how to get the pic off my new phone.
