2012 Toyota Prius V Factory Stock 16 inch Aluminum Rim with Hub Cap | eBay I offered him $125, and he took it. So, it's $155 delivered. I figure that it can't be more than a year old; probably less. I'll keep the best tire off of the current ones, when it's time to replace the tires. That will make a great full size spare. I figure that, if I wait 2-4 years, until I need tires, the used road wheels will be in poorer shape. Also, I have an extra wheel cover, if I lose one, even though I have NEW center caps. I figure that it a good deal overall and wish to share with othe "v" owners.
Yes, some people have dispensed with the cheesy wheel covers and have replaced them with center caps. If you do get them, make sure they are the larger ones made for the "v." The smaller ones are for the standard Prius.
I assume these are the caps for the Prius V5 alloys? Anything else I should know before ordering? Thanks!
The proper fitting cap are the same caps for the 2012 Camry alloy wheels. 2012 TOYOTA CAMRY Parts - Camelback Toyota Parts The Toyota Part# is 42603-12730.
Just came back from Discount Tire. I made the appointment on line and got there an hour early. They put the tire on the wheel in 15 minutes, and I'm out the door. I can make a profit of about $30 for the hub cap/ wheel cover on eBay. The who thing will cost me $280. I put a Michelin Defender on the wheel, which looked like it had 500 miles on it. The wheel looked cleaner and had less brake dust on it than the ones on my car, which have 3,900 on them. I had them put a regular valve on it. When it comes to buying new tires, I'll but three and have them move the TPMS sensor to the spare, put a valve on the best of the old tires, and I will still have a full size spare. There will be no TPMS reprogramming charge at the Toyota dealer.
Wish I knew you were in the market for a set Irv...I have a set with less than 200 miles on them, with wheel caps. So if anyone is interested in a set, or the tires I'll make a sweet deal on them.
Tru, You can advertise them for sale on the Private Sale page. I just needed one. I wish I knew, too. But, I did get a good deal. I'm happy. I live on the other coast, so shipping wasn't cheap. The 2013 Prius"v" uses the same wheel and tires, so it shouldn't be too hard to sell them. While they are smaller than yur new wheels and tires, you might want to keep one set for yourself as a full size spare.
I would be interested.....When I purchased our "v"5 I asked the dealer if they would swap the oem 17's with a set of their new 16's....I wanted the higher profile tires/wheels....They didn't wanted to "cloud" the deal..??? Anyway what is your "sweet deal" on the entire set...????? Is this something you could/would ship to Cincvinnati,Ohio...????
Start a conversation or a PM with Trusound. The 17's are in demand for those who want the look. The boxes can be had at any tire store, as they throw them away. From Californis to Ohio, shipping would be aboyut $25 each for UPS and about the same by USPS Parcel Post. If you tape two boxes together, it would be cheaper. But, watch out for UPS, since they charge extra for larger sized packages.
