The EV Driving ration will give you kwh and miles used in EV mode.

Tire rolling resistance increases in cold weather as well. It is especially impactful on short trips because tires don't have time to warm up.

The dealership he referenced is in the Portland OR area. Current wx there is 40's for lows and 50's for highs. Chilly but not cold by your standards, FREEZING! by mine. <grin>

    Den,

If there isn't another PiP owner nearby, perhaps go to the dealer, top off the battery, and ask them to drive your PiP while you follow in another NEW topped off PiP and see if you both get about the same distance out of the battery.

HSI shows instantaneous EV power bar. If you exceed that (into PWR region), it'll trigger the gas engine.

Since the battery is rated 38 kW, you can guess how much power you are using. Assuming it is linear (felt like it from accelerator movement), half the bar is 19 kW.

    To the OP:

If you average 19 kW (half bar) going 60 mph, 2.8 kWh available electricity from the battery will give you 8.9 miles.

If you average 12.7 kW (1/3 bar) going 60 mph, you should get 13.3 miles.

If you slow down to 50-55 mph, it will give you more range since you spend less energy pushing the air.

I don't think that will help too much. It is still the driver, If Wane Gerdes follows you he could be right behind you and getting 30% better range. It sounds like the OP is still with in the normal operating range.

USB that still doesn't show watts per mile. I have found my best range is when I use a type of P&G. I place the car in N coasting to lights or on empty roads.

The watts per mile is incredibly helpful. I bet Toyota will provide an update with that soon.
Just like a live MPG rating is helpful for everyone getting better mileage than they would without it. Mankind's built in competitiveness can be very helpful at times.

But that is beside the point I suppose. The watts/mile since last charge, or real time, would help the original owner answer the question of loss of capacity vs increased power demand.

I know, those are just reference points. That would give OP an idea to gauge how much power he is using to get optimal range.

Like the thread started by Susan4ET on a similar question, I think this really comes down to YMMV. I have no explanation for it, but my estimated EVR seems to benefit from some occasional HV fwy driving. For example, this week has been all in town surface street driving at moderate speeds, using no HV. And yet my estimated EVR has dropped over several days from 14.8 down to 14.1 as of this morning. Temps are slightly lower, by maybe 5 degrees when I leave my house.

Yesterday I made a 56 mile roundtrip, mostly fwy. This morning, I was back up to 14.4 in estimated EV range. Mine seems to like going on the freeway.:)

Headwinds and tailwinds.... One night driving home into a 30 mph headwind and struggled to get to 50 mpg.

Also in the morning when I leave it has been in the 40's. I leave the climate control off so the ICE will not start and get approximately 1.5 more miles before the EV setting gives up. I would probably get more if I didn't have the lights on as well. Decided that was an experiment best left to someone else.

Do you charge using level 1 (110v) or level 2 (220v)?

Dan after charging turn the fan off and the estimate will go up by about 1.4 miles to 10..9 or so. then with careful use you can get it back up but it really doesn't matter what the estimate says, the battery if fine and fully charged - it's just an estimate!! I went through the same thing at the dealer and finally just started pushing buttons to see what affected the estimate. It's the fan on or off.

Mostly Level 1. I got a couple of Level 2 charges as well at free Chargepoint stations. Why? Does it matter?

I know that most batteries last longer if they are trickle charged. Not sure if hat holds true for lithium-ion batteries.
