It seems to, but I have just started using the add on, so I will have to see if I run out or ev range much. I do a lot more driving than just a commute. About 2500 miles per month.

The pip battery is4.4 kwh but only uses about 2.7 to 3 kwh for the ev part of driving and saves the rest for hybrid, so the usable size of the add-on is larger.+

The plug in supply website is not updated because Robb is out of town until almost the end of the month. He stated he will update when he gets back.

    Please do.

" Anyway, I had no time to stop at all and I hit them. All my groceries (I was just coming back from the store) flew forward and exploded out of their bags AND packaging."

Does this mean the additional battery charger is optional? Did you ever have a chance to charge the add-on pack with the built-in battery charger? How does it work (does it charge the OEM or add-on pack first, or both at the same time)? How long does it take?

    Thanks in advance.

This thread is getting really big and off topic. Did I miss the promised pictures? Or has the OP not delivered yet? Thanks.

The additional battery charger is not optional. It is part of the total cost of the diy kit. You need to use the separate charger because the built in charger will not handle 2 batteries in parallel. I just plug the car into my level II home charger and the additional charger into a heavy 12 gauge extension cord. The cord goes in thru the rear hatch which will close to the first click of the latch, not all the way tight, but car is all closed up. In 1.5 hrs I can go 14 to 18 miles or in 3 hrs I can go 21 to 28 miles, depending on driving conditions. For short local trips, less than 12 miles round trip I just use the factory pack. When I come back, I charge up again, the factory pack is ready again in 1.5 hrs. and the add-on is then fully charged. first 1.5 hrs and second 1.5 hrs, since it was not used for short trip. Then it is ready for up to 28 mile trip.

Not quite, I am using it every day, still working great. I haven't made my final decision where I will put the board and relay, so I have put them next ot the batteries again. The way it is now could stay forever, or until I get some time to work on it again. I have gotten very busy with my work.

it's great how quickly you accomplished everything. there's a poor guy over on the C forum waiting and waiting for parts to trickle in. it's been about 2 months. he's very upbeat, but yours went much quicker and more smoothly.
