I just had a major let down! The Iphone 4s is not compatible with audio bluetooth streaming in my Prius V. I called toyota support and they sent me to Toyota.com - Connect, on the site it will ask you your phone model and car info, then it lists all the capabilities of you phone connections with green check marks and red X's. Damn technology, what a bummer.

Do you have a IV or a V as your model? Your profile says five, which doesn't make sense for 2010 since models were Roman numerals that year only.

I just got my first iPhone, a 5, but yeah seems the iPhone operates differently than android in some ways and even the 4 is different than the 5 iPhone wise...

If you have a 2010 you have a V (uppercase) not a five, that was kinda what I was trying to point out. Roman numerals were used for model designation in 2010. After that, 2011/12 etc they went with two, three, four and five...

And yes, my iPhone 5 in my 2012 does stream music over Bluetooth. Not sure if the iPhone 5 does in a 2010/11 though.

Not sure how older model Prius work but with Prius 2012 and the 6" display, if you get the Hotspot option from your cell provider the iPhone will work via Bluetooth. Toyota will tell it will not work but it does...again on 2012 6".

I own a 2010. I'm guessing the software is not compatible with the Iphone 4s.

    My droid worked just fine.

Bluetooth is Bluetooth. My 2009 Escape Hybrid worked with iPhone as does my 2012 Prius as phone and music source via Bluetooth.

Yeah, when I had a 2010 V before my 2012 PiP, my htc evo worked fine streaming audio over BT in it as well.

No all bluetooth is not the same. To stream music in stereo you need an enhanced version of bluetooth.

OP, do you have the 2010 Prius V with any navigation system (via nav, solar roof or advanced technology package)? From looking at Toyota Vehicles : Toyota Announces Prices for 2010 Prius / Toyota, it looks like you need to have nav via ones of those means to have Bluetooth music streaming (aka A2DP music streaming).

No factory nav == no music streaming.

If anyone has a 2010 Prius V please let me know if you can figure out a way to solve this problem.

See my earlier post. It's dependent on you having nav on the 2010-2011 Priuses. Do you have it?

No, in 2010 on a Prius V nav was still optional either alone or included as part of the adv tech pkg.

Judging by the table, I don't think so.

It should work though. When I still had my iPhone 3G, I did A2DP music streaming just fine w/2010 Lexus HS 250h (w/nav) that I won a week test drive of. The nav system is of roughly the same generation and quite similar to what's in 2010-2011 Priuses except that the Lexus didn't use a touchscreen and had a mouse-like controller w/haptic feedback.

You might have to pair the phone 2x (or in two different areas). My memory is foggy as I had the car for a week around Thanksgiving 2009.

I think i'm going to go to the dealership tomorrow to see if they can get it to work.

    Try
    first.

You'll may need to go to Settings > Bluetooth on your phone before/while doing this.
