Toyota Offering 0% + $2000 Back On PIP

Buyatoyota.com was the most reliable way for me to search inventory and actually reach Internet managers at dealerships

 

I got offered one for 31,500 incl destination. And it's in the state! They are gonna call the district mgr on Monday to see if I can still get the $2000 incentive from Toyota in this state.

 

Yeah the one they were talking about was for MD and VA

 

...I saw a whole bunch of $30,500 PiPs on the CarMax website 2 weeks ago, in Laurel MD unless I made a location mistake. Worth a call to them if you have an interest. Try again too, as their website search function could be designed a little better. That's what made me realize PiPs were cheaper than I had thought, especially after rebates.

 

Okay, so there are 6 'advanced' models in laurel, md and 1 base used with 7k miles in san diego for 29,9. Lol what is a "good" price for the base?

 

my dealer did 31000 (includes freight charge) + 75 dealer fee. -2000 cash back for september
threw in rear bumper applique for free.
NYC area.

 

I'd avoid the used car like the plague. I'd say a good price is 29k or less after all TFS incentives but before IRS/state rebates.

 

Sweet. Found a dealer in PA that did an exchange for a PiP just to demo it. Now they can't sell it lol. They are gonna try to see if they can get the Toyota incentive in PA just for me.

No. But my understanding is that sales tax in MD is 7% vs 6% here and their paperwork fees are higher.

 

You should be able to pay the sales tax of where you live, not where you buy…

 

I didn't think of that. Anything else you buy, you pay the tax of where you buy it. There may or may not also be some type of tax fee when leaving that state with the car or when bringing it to PA.

 

to the best of my knowledge the rule with cars tends to follow the rules for income taxes. in california, regardless of where you buy the car, the tax rate is based on where you live, not where the car is purchased (regardless of whether the car is bought in the state or out).

 

Hmm, good to know. If I can get the incentive buying in PA then it shouldn't matter. I guess I will wait and see. But I don't think I will find a cheaper price on the car. Just have to decide if I want to pay that much :\

 

In NY, the HOV access in LIE still allow the regular hybrids. You can get into the HOV lane with $20k Prius c so that is going a bit against the PHV.

Sounds like HOV access but not much in the way of NY tax credits? same for NYC?
When I met my wife she lived just off the Belt Parkway, which was one crazy road back in the 1970's.
Seems more tame now, or I have changed.

 

Belt PKWY East bound during heavy rain days = flooding everywhere.
Belt improved, and is still improving as they are having construction around exit 13 to 15.
How was it during 70s?
LIPA customers can get extra $500 rebate as well.

Of course not. That's why TFS offers $3500 CB instead of just $1500 like they do in CA. So you actually get more money in the end. Of course, the holy grail would be to buy the car in NY and then ship/drive it cross-country to CA for a total rebate discount of a whopping $7500 including all TFS, state, and federal incentives.
