Was just at a meeting yesterday at our local region with all things Rav4 EV shared, even the driving ... and all I have to say is WOW! What a wonderful car - and the superb 8" NAV/TECH display screen is a marvel. The biggest surprise is the power the car has! Even without the SPORT mode clicked. This car is a winner.

And, there will be a huge lease promotion for this car with a $599 payment. I'll keep ya'll posted. I'm already taking orders at a Prius Chat preferred dealer price. CA sales only. I'm mentioning this because there are no other states servicing or selling the car, limited production for CA buyers only.

And, they go about 100-117 miles on a charge driving normally. I did just see someone go 125.

How does the performance/handling feel compared against the V6? Wish they were available in NY, I really like my RAV4.

Yep. Handling is better because the centre of gravity is lower (batteries under the floor vs. an engine in the compartment). There isn't the typical SUV lean. Acceleration (esp. in Sport Mode) is quick, definitely in V6 terrritory. (0-60 in 7.0 in Sport mode).

You would think this would make SUV's rollover potential much lower making it safer as well.

Yup. The Tesla Model X will be very interesting to drive. The effect is more noticeable on an SUV than on a car.

Man, I absolutely love my RAV4, but I would LOVE to have that car. I'd consider getting it from CA if I could afford it ;)

Haha no...a pure EV doesnt make sense for me and if i was in the market i'd stick with a Leaf or Mitsubishi i seeing as I don't need the space of an SUV

Amazingly, Tony Williams on MNL has pulled the trigger on a Rav 4 EV and it looks like he dumped his 2nd Leaf (My Nissan Leaf Forum • View topic - The unofficial Leaf dropout thread). I guess his renting one was enough to convince him. He was able to achieve 130 miles in his rental (My Nissan Leaf Forum • View topic - Official Toyota RAV4 EV Thread).

From his post at My Nissan Leaf Forum • View topic - Official Toyota RAV4 EV Thread, he's not thrilled about how Toyota treats the $7500 Federal tax credit when leasing (so he didn't lease), unlike how Nissan does things. I believe GM w/the Volt also treats it the same way as Nissan.
