We’re taking a road trip out west for a couple of weeks at the end of this month. I’m guessing we’ll put about 3,000 miles on the car during this time. I’m projecting that I’ll have about 48,000 miles on my car when it comes time to leave. Just had a new set of tires put on last week. Should I: 1) Go ahead and do the 50,000 mile oil change before leaving, or 2) Wait until I get back? TIA
I would leave it till you get back the oil will be fine. However I know there are those that will disagree. I would however recommend you check the level and top up if required before you go.
Freeway miles are easy miles. I have in the past just extended my oil change by any interstate highway miles driven during that service interval.
