Pretty easy to fix. Resize original to 200 x 200 and then reupload using the personal options menu top right. The down arrow next to your avatar and then choose the "Avatar" menu item.

If the 200 x 200 is still too big, edit it in your graphics software until if fits the entire window alloted to the avatar.

Yes, I know how to fix it. So thousands of users must waste hundreds of hours resizing their avatars.

I haven't yet found the original from five years ago, so I just put in a different one.

    Thanks a lot XenForo.

Or one person spends two minutes. I guess its a matter of perspective. Probably less time than it took to talk about it.

Right after my post, I can click on the Edit button. However, I get an error saying that I have zero minute left to edit.

If I refresh the page, the Edit button is gone. All my old/prior posts do not have the Edit button.

Am I too impatient to look more thoroughly, or do we no longer have a deal on our profile page (formerly control panel) where we can see whose been visiting our profile page?

ok since it's been pretty much 4 months since the new look/software birthed - i'm going to guess we're pretty much hosed if we liked/want a rectangular avatar. I'm kinda gettin' used to not seeing the Prius even in my avatar any more.

I have never disliked a site as much as I hate this version 5 of the p-chat. Loads so slow, cumbersome, threads are no longer rational, hate it hate it and I know, go somewhere else, no, still love all that I have received from you guys over the years and will never leave, just mumble under my breath and learn how to use this version...by the way, 202,000 trouble free miles on my '04.

Dude. None of that is true. Software is faster by every objective metric. If the thread topics do not appear "rational" then talk to those creating the threads. They look same old, same old thread topics. The organization is way more organized with alerts and going right to last message read, way more user friendly.

Hill, give this a try. Extend you avatar sides (or top + bottom) to make it square, then make the added on portions the same color as your PC background. I haven't tried that but think it will give you an avatar that looks rectangular and doesn't chop off part of the picture.

That's a workaround to a bug that's considered a feature. Sure it will work but that's not the point. "Squaring" / auto-cropping pictures is just one of my complaints with the new look.

Personally I solve the problem of the horrible user interface by accessing the forum ?. It isn't perfect either but it's way less irritating.

Are we missing something? I would also like to know who visited my profile page like how it was before, and have other know that I looked at their profiles.

What happened to the area to write underneath your avatar picture?

Under "PriusChat Forums," it looks like "Freds House of Politics" is now peer to "Freds House of Pancakes" too. There may have been more than one change going on.

The "Gen I" forums still shows the text. However, news, Freds House of Politics and this one do not. . . . This suggests the effect is localized by forum or groups of forums.
