After a full recharge the display usually shows 10.9 miles available.
Checking with a trip odo, this is pretty accurate: in neighborhood driving it'll go that distance, give or take a couple tenths, before reverting to HV mode.

11 miles seems short, I was expecting a bit more. Is this worth taking up with the dealer?

how fast are you going? about 40mph? 10.9 is what I get driving 40mph. when I drop down to 35mph my EV goes up to 11.9 I'm currently driving 20mph on side streets to get to work, my trip odo says 14miles, still waiting for the EV range to go beyond 12 miles. Driving 20mph every time I charge my PIP should make go up to 14 tho.

11.o is the sticker. you're fine. some get more, some get less, based on their driving habits, terrain, climate, etc. just like mpg's. all the best!

I get 11.4 after recharge, But first few miles goes off fairly quickly(before I drive 1mile). My driving speed is from 25-60 to commute.

I hover around 12.4 or 12.5 and have seen as low as 11.9 or as high as 13.1 one time. My very short commute to work is kind of up hill both ways (and some downhill) with a bunch of stop signs so still seeing the estimate pretty stable at 12.4 is awesome. If this county were flatter I'm sure I'd see a higher average.

Yeah the new people need to search a page or so we have alot on this subject....

Mine started at 11.3 range.....and now after some slow EV drives, I got it up to 14.2 after charge. I have been getting 15 miles on my slow trips for about 5 trips, still it wont go higher then 14.2 so far.

Bottom line OP....drive it slow, and watch your actual miles, you will get over 15.....drive it over 35 or so, and quick starts, go uphill ect ect..and you might only go 10 miles. Its all about your right foot.

I find if you keep the HSI under 20% in EV you will go ovr 14 miles. Also try to get some decent regen.

Going to the dealer would be a waste of time, IMO. Mine has settled in at 13.1 after a little over 6 months. It is an estimate and based on your driving. It will vary for everyone.

  14. I have charged to 15.2 a couple of times now.

i was up to 16.5, but due to some excess hv driving i suspect, i'm down to 15.5. but i can still go 17.5, so what else matters?:)

Another way to increase the EV estimated range (not that it really matters) is to use EV and HV on n off....How many others do this?

depending on your drive conditions, Use EV only on those slow urban streets, stop and go type driving, all below 30mph. Switch into HV when you get above 35 or so. Is that that term "stacking" ive read about? Im very new to any hypermiling techniques. I seem to get higher EV ranges after charge the more i only use EV for slow urban streets.

And there will be for years to come.

It's just like any other gauge, estimates are only approximations and outcome will vary.

I have had my plug in since May and the charge mileage keeps going down.....been driving mostly the same route throughout, which is 18 miles each way, with about 15 miles being freeway. Now getting 8.3-8.7 miles to a charge reported.

I purchased my Prius Plug-in about 10 weeks ago, in early July. The charge indicator would read 11.8 or 11.6 after charging the battery. After several weeks it registered 11.4 and has gradually declined since that time. The past few days the indicator reads 10.1 after a charge. Might this be a result of the battery not holding the same level of charge after this relatively short period of time or could it be an issue with the charging program or sensor ?
