It just seems like bargaining with the salesperson is a waste of time when you end up having to start all over with the finance guy. My few experiences at dealers have been that the salesperson is just a reconaisance dweeb, ferreting out what your buttons are and training you to accept the sticker prices if they can. If I had to pick between spending an hour at a dealer or a dentist, I would go to the dentist.
When I was done with the salesman and the price was settled on with the closer, the F&I guy just wrote me up. I told them up front I already walk out of two other dealers that they knew very well.
I really didn't even have to go out of my way. I work across from one of them and the other two are on the way home. We're loaded with Toyota dealers around here.
