I just switched from a smartkey gen2 to a smartkey gen3. I have a quick question! With the gen2 you never had to take the fob out of your pocket even with locking doors. You simply just pressed the little black button on the handle and off you went. Is there a way to trigger the car to lock with a gen3 like this? I tried swiping my finger which would normally unlock the car but nothing. Or does the gen3 now require you to dig for a fob and press the button there
There are small lines on the top and bottom front of the handle. Just put your finger on that "bump" area until you hear the beep.
Yeah, switching from my 08 it took me a while to figure this out...i actually read it on here and tried it and it worked.
Is there a way to set it to auto lock after you exit with the fob on you for a set amount of time, in case you forget?
As far as I am aware...No. But if I'm wrong please let me know! I've already forgotten to lock mine several times; thankfully in my driveway and not in a public area.
