So i just got a call from the dealer, stating i need to go back in to resign the finance paper work. The bank told them to drop the price another 2000k an my interest rate another 2 points. Is this a good or bad sign lol i mean the car runs an rides great as far as i can tell. Just curious on opinions.
Is there an outstanding warrant for your arrest? Sometimes police departments will mail sweepstakes award notices to criminals to get them to come in and claim their prize, which is usually a jail cell. Have them send the paperwork to you! Richard
Huh? Ive never heard of anything like that happening. Have you called the bank to asked whats going on?
Not yet, im out of town on business. Ill guess ill know more in when i go in on sat. Also as far as i know, no warrants lol
Ok... I'll take a guess on what happened: There was a miscommunication/dispute between the amount of money the bank thought you were qualified to borrow and how much the dealer thought you could borrow and when the bank tried to cancel the loan the dealer freaked out and dropped the price so they wouldn't lose the sale. I don't have much experience in these matter but that's my guess... And if you have stellar credit and could get a loan for much higher than the price the dealer charged, maybe this idea doesn't fly? Or perhaps the bank has done loans for the exact same car and objected to them overcharging you, which would mean you have a really cool bank sticking up for you, or perhaps a local community credit union? Have you called the bank yet to ask them? Regardless, we do hope you reply with what they say when you go in, assuming of course you aren't going to jail?
Yes my payment is suppose to drop about 60-80 bucks. Ill know more on sat. Im away on business tell then but it just caught me off guard lol. My credit score is 660 so ya. Just thought id ask the community. Ty all, ill post the out come on saturday.
Ok so i managed to drive over to the dealer yesterday evening. I was told that they submitted the wrong info about how much i make, an dropped the amount of the car in order to finanance it. Also was told that my trade in was no longer on there lot. Lol So they dropped the car another 2000.00 which also put me in a lower interest range. Also my payments are 75.00 less per month.
That's kinda like what I guessed! Yay! I bet someone in the finance department feels like they just cost their boss $2k by fudging/not fact checking the numbers enough...
I got my call two days ago. The dealer ship did not add the $850 for the door edge guards and the window Tint on the contract. The negotiations included all this.... I re-signed the new contract with the same amount of monies financed, same monthly payment/term. The warranty I pruchased was reduced $850 to offset the increased cash price. I would think the sales manager that agreed to the deal got an earful. Oh well. Not my problem.... $850 for auto tint and the door edge guards(essentially tape).......... Thats a little high compared to if I could do it aftermarket.
When I went looking, the car I found had an extra dealer sticker in the window for $1000. That included window etching, floor mats, pin striping, door and fender edge guards and paint protection. I told the salesman I wasn't even talking until the sticker was gone. He reached in, pulled the sticker out and crumpled it up. Then we talked price.
I never talk price with the salesman, it seems to be a worthless conversation since they hand you off to the "finance" guy before you get the keys. When I bought the 07 Prius I had a check filled out and signed in my wallet, I then went to the dealership and asked the salesman to show me the model I had in mind, then I went to the finance guy, showed him the check and asked if he could give me the keys.
Bargaining's half the fun. I had a trade-in, so besides copies of the cost and the hold-back, I had a print-out of the Galves figures on my trade.
