It's the Long Island Expressway HOV Lane.

I have a 92 mile R/T commute and the PiP has been great for me. My MPG per tank is usually between 58 and 63, whereas with a regular Prius, I probably would've gotten around 47 or 48. A Volt wouldn't have the range necessary to get me to work or home on electric only. I could get most of the way to work, but I'd still be burning gas, and I'd have to recharge for at least 8 hours at 120V to get home on mostly-electric, but still burning gas again.

I disagree. I have a 92 mile R/T commute and the PiP has been great, especially when you add in the value of the HOV lane access. I'm getting between 58 & 63 MPG per tank whereas in my old 2005 Prius I was getting between 42 & 44 MPG per tank.

Its interesting, looking at lease prices is a plug-in really more expensive?

    From the info compiled here:
Best Toyota Deals | U.S. News Best Cars
the best advertised $0 down lease on a v is $389/mnth in Socal, vs. Diane's advertised ~$0 down $365/mnth on the Plug-in.

    Very interesting ;)

hmm.. I'm paying only $240/m after tax with $700 down for my current 2010 Prius III lease. And it's 15k/yr, too. That's a huge jump in monthly payments.

Yeah, you'll have to see what you can get. The same page shows Socal as $299/mnth with $3k down on a regular Prius. Hopefully there are better deals out there!

I love when solutions are so simple and elegant. I never heard or thought of just putting the tire on top of the cord. Problem solved. Another reason why I read PriusChat everyday.

    Thank you

Just beware the Owner's Manual pg. 94 states: "Do not place heavy objects on the charging cable."

I don't think the cord is designed to handle that kind of weight. It may damage the wiring insulators.
