my wife and i are about to close the deal on a prius v trim two. is there anything we should have done before we leave the dealership? i asked about turning off the back up beep they said they cant because of safety reason. any tips? thanks liquid
Sure, show them in the manual that it is supposed to be done by the dealer, then walk if they won't. If you can't get service now, why expect it to ever get better? Here are all the customizations available. http://www.toyota.com/t3Portal/document/om/OM47784U/pdf/sec_06-02.pdf
While I don't think they can completely turn off the beep, they can just make it beep once. My dealer did that before delivery with no problems. Dave
Agree on changing out the beep. I had my dealer change it as a condition of purchase. Of course they forgot but they were able to do it while I was finishing the paperwork. The single beep is SO MUCH BETTER.
I'll be switching mine to a single beep when I hit my first service interval. The continuous beep is soooooo annoying.
My V's 5000 mile service is due. I e mailed the service manager and told him i wanted the backup beep changed to just one beep. I told him that most dealers do it for free and led him to believe that if he didnt, i would have my service done elsewhere. His responce was, "bring it in and it will get done free of charge".
