Convince me to buy a Prius C

I must have misunderstood, I thought we tentatively had let the new Ford hybrid into our list of PC approved cars

 

On paper it is. I'm eager to see how it works out in real life. Ford has done an excellent job with its hybrids so I am expecting great things.

 

Forget about towing with any of the Prius family, but you might be amazed how much the liftback can haul. If you can find it, there is a funny and educational thread in this forum of pictures showing stuffed to the gills liftbacks.

I like your idea of sharing use and cost of the Rav with your brother. Smart

the fact that you're a liftback owner who regularly trolls the C forums I don't know that your opinion on the subject carries much weight. Also, I hope you weren't referring to me cause I would not have bought a liftback. They're just not for me, like the C is not for you.

 

I have seen a couple of pictures like that too, but I am pretty sure it goes against Toyota reccs

 

I started out to buy a C, a loaded Red C/4. They didn't have any C/4's so I test drove a C/2. They wanted $23K. They had a Prius III next to it so after the text in the C we got into the III. On getting in the III, the saleswoman and I both looked at each other and went..."Ooo...this is plush" which it is compared to the C.

Drove both again the next day. Same judgement. The price difference was minimal as they were having a sale on the Prius III's and I paid $24K for Blizzard Pearl Prius III/3.

 

What is your point? Because you seem to be proving the point we're all trying to make. You personally like the Liftback more than the c. That's great! You're more than welcome to tell the OP, and anyone who wants to listen, why you prefer it. It's the way you say it that is the problem. You act as though there's no possible reason anyone would ever want the c, except for price, which you then dismiss. Drop the judgement and the condescension and people will be glad to listen what you have to say.

I am so happy for you that you feel secure in your purchase, and that you love your car. Really, I am. I would never tell you that you made a stupid choice because you love your car that you spent your money on. And, believe or not, I love my car that I spent my money on. The Liftback felt too big and clunky to me. I don't like the interior or the exterior. And in my area, it IS more expensive, unless I wanted to get a used one with fewer features and a bunch of miles. On the other hand, I could get the c. At first it was about the price; they reeled me in. Then I test drove one, and, price difference aside, I greatly preferred it to the Liftback. I really like smaller cars. I like the interior. I think it looks better from the outside. But that's just my opinion. I'm not saying that any of my opinions are objectively true (other than the price thing) because I recognize that everyone has different needs and desires.

And one final point: All things being equal, for some people, $2,000 is a lot of money. Let's not be so dismissive of cost factors.

Well said. I don't get people who constantly bring in cost as if it is going to be the deciding factor for everyone. For some, yes. For others, no.

It was the same for me. The liftback was NEVER on my radar because it also was too big for me. Everyone always says: "well for just a little more you could get a full size one!" but I never wanted a liftback in the first place, so that point was moot. If the c was more expensive than the liftback I might have still made the same choice (or gone with another car altogether).

I always always always always wanted a small blue car. I finally got one; I'm happy.

Why are people with Prius Liftback posting on this forum? This forum is for Prius C owners ONLY.

Members here are so nice, on the other boards they will kick their asses out when they post in the wrong forum.

I've never for once click on anywhere else, not just the Prius Liftback forum, but this Prius C because I don't have other Prius.

 

It's because ProximalSuns keeps using incorrect and confusing nomenclature, despite me and others telling him to stop. I don't understand why he keeps doing this, other than to irritate me and others.

The *ONLY* "Prius III" is the 2010 Prius III, just as there was the 2010 Prius I, II, IV and V.

See Prius III confusion | PriusChat. For '11 and '12 model years of the Prius liftback aka regular Prius, Toyota has gone to spelling out the numbers instead of Roman numerals (as evidenced by The 3rd Generation Toyota Prius Hybrid models and prices).

 

Umm no. This is still a part of PriusChat.com. Members are free to read and post in any forum they are interested in. Your purchase does not put you into an exclusive club. I'm not sure what tyrannical forums you come from but none of the dozens of forums I use or have used act the way you describe. If you chose to remain uninformed by not visiting the other sections of this forum that is your choice. Many of us like to learn all that we can.

 

Who says? Are you the Prius c forum police?

What if you have a question about the liftback, a Gen 1, PiP or v wagon? Should you not post there? What's the solution to that?

Ditto to F8L's comments. I've not been on any other forums (car or otherwise) where I've used the forums or acted in the way you describe.

Now, what does irk me is when random people (usually newbies) post their questions in the wrong area... usually the Prius v (wagon) area , when they don't own a v and aren't asking about a v.

 

Off hand I'll guess that DKTVAV is confused by the demand by moderators and PC members to post content in the relevant sub-forum. I can see how that might confuse newbies or casual visitors, and be interpreted as "stick to your own turf."
