Please share some screen shots of the Dyno function so we can establish a base line... but you took off your resonator too... you think you can put it back on for a few tests?

I actually just unhooked it, it would be very easy to re-attach. Once I do so, i log a couple runs and post the results.

yeah, Benz's are from stuttgart too. after spending most of the last 12 years fixing them, i wish we'd a nuked the place when we had a chance.
if you ever got underneath a benz and a bmw, you'd see why benz is clearly a superior car. i still hate the krauts for making cars (not really... ok maybe a little), and i wish they'd stick to something they actually do well. like making beer and chocolate.
road testing AMG's almost makes up for having to work on em. red-lining a supercharged sl55 always makes me smile.

I often find that it's not the cars that are a pain to work on, it's really the owners who drive them!

I almost bought a used AMG. then I found out how much service costs. That almost made me puke. Also - you get to enjoy depreciation that's nearly as steep as a Maserati.

Some other versions with the same answers:

What's the difference between a Porsche and a porcupine? (That may be the original version)

What's the difference between a BMW full of lawyers and a porcupine?

If I were inclined to spend far more money than necessary to get a car that does what I want it to do I would have a Porsche or BMW, maybe both.

most of our customers seem to be ok. we do get a few arrogant jerks and nasty ¢ЏИ╫ﻜ, but not many.
it gets old being greasy and sweaty all the time, though.

The BAFX OBD II arrived last night, it was really easy to setup. I'm using the BAFX-OBD II with the Torque App on a Samsung Note. I've adjusted some of the settings and I figured out that the gross vehicle weight in the app defaults at 6900 lbs. Without changing the GVW you'll get some overstated / wild readings.

I've seen online that Prius' curb weight is 2900 lbs, I roughly estimated my weight, fuel, spare tire, jack and other items etc. to be about 350 lbs. I changed the vehicle profile in the Torque App to be 3250 lbs GVW.

I'll share pics of my readings from my drive to work later on tonight.
When we use the app, we have to be careful to use the same gross vehicle weight. Otherwise our data will not compare correctly. With my GVW set at the default 6900 lbs the HP reading shoots up to 188HP, and we all know that a K&N drop in filter + air intake doesn't result in 100+ Horsepower gain.

So to compare data we have to make sure and use the same estimated vehicle weight or our data will result with incorrect readings.

I found more information while searching online. I'm not exactly sure about the curb weight vs. GVW. 863 lbs difference? Is that for a fully loaded car with fuel + 4 adults and luggage? I'll stick to my 3250 for now unless you all think I should use a different GVW. Let me know what you think. Thanks!

What is "curb weight" versus "gross vehicle weight" and do they affect a car? - What Should I Know About Weight? - Epinions.com
curb weight vs gross vehicle weight

Curb Weight is the actual weight of the truck without any passengers or cargo in it. It’s the base weight that is used in subtraction to calculate the total weight of the vehicle with passengers and cargo.

Gross Vehicle Weight is the total weight of the loaded vehicle. This includes the vehicle itself and the cargo that is loaded within that vehicle.

How much does 1 gallon of Gasoline weigh? - Q&A
    weight of fuel per gallon
Automotive gasoline has a density of about 737.22 kilograms per cubic meter at 60 degrees F. Doing conversions yields 6.152 lbs per US gallon.
    12gal x 6.152 = 73.824 lbs -- about 74 lbs

Don't forget to put some speed equipment decals on the silver paint....25 hp each. If you adjust your ride height based on the gap between the top of the tire and the wheel well, that's another 37.5 horsepower

Some screen shots of the data I've collected:

This isn't under WOT if you look at my max throttle, I was only at 35% throttle, HP was nice and low 46.2 HP, but the Torque value 124.6! it didn't take very long to reach 60 mph and I didn't have to push the car hard to reach that speed.

I cleared the data and recorded it again, throttle is at 36.1 (I'm looking at the highest values) HP a nice low 42.8, torque an impressive 120 highest value.

This under WOT - the Torque app doesn't tell me the actual max value in the chart. I just know that it registers as over 100 HP.I'm not sure I trust the HP reading, I think more like 85Hp is more realistic.

Again under WOT over 100 ft-lbs of torque.

This is a screen shot of WOT, 5,100 rpm, 88.3 mph, 95.9 hp max val, 63.9% throttle. I'm not sure I trust the torque value max value of 198.6 ft lbs of torque. but it seems like no matter what at WOT or 1/3 throttle the max acceleration value stays at a constant 0.4
