I am less than 24 hours into owning my first Prius v, so far so good, but is there a trick to getting the internet to work? All of my bluetooth functions are working.
You need to download the Entune app. If you use iPhone, it needs to be cabled via USB in addition to the app. You should have instructions supplied by dealer. Apparently only iPhone needs the cable and it does not need it for Bluetooth phone or music. Some indicate iPhone with optional tethering may work wirelessly through Entune app.
I could be wrong, but I've not been able to get Entune to work via Bluetooth. You have to connect with a USB cable to the iPhone.
If you have an iPhone, it could be because you haven't paid your carrier for the ability to enable personal hotspot (iOS: Understanding Personal Hotspot). It would help if the OP listed their phone, carrier and what they're trying to do.
My IOS 5.1.1 iPhone is on an ancient unlimited data plan with AT&T (which means I can't tether with other devices). With that said, my iPhone works perfectly fine with the Bluetooth for phone and audio- no need to enable personal hotspot stuff. When it does come to using the internet I do need to plug the phone into the USB connection. While I did figure out how to link the BT to my phone on my own the first day, the dealer oftered/asked if I needed assistance in setting it up during a follow up visit to go over the car. Did your dealer go over it? If not, I'd pop in and ask for assistance.
Of course you don't need to enable tethering/personal hotspot for BT phone calls and A2DP music streaming. It's not the type of connection needed to establish a connection to the Internet via your cellular phone's data connection. The former's has always worked even before tethering was even available on the iPhone.
