Toyota Prius 2002 P3125

    I have a Toyota Prius 2002 and I have a problem regarding a code P3125 and I would like to know what it means and what the part look like.

    Your car may have a problem with the inverter, the hybrid vehicle ECU, or maybe the transaxle. The car will typically log a three-digit info code along with the DTC which may help to further identify the root cause. I suggest you visit your local Toyota dealer so that a diagnosis can be provided to you.

    Hold on just a second. Most of the time the problem in in the transaxle. I would see how it rolls in neutral first. Either park the car on a hill or get some buddies to help you push and see if it rolls smoothly in neutral with the engine off. 5 MPH will be good. If it shakes/vibrates like crazy you probably have an issue in your tranaxle. There are a few more things to check but lets start here. Also, I have repaired more than one of these which WERE MISDIAGNOSED BY THE DEALER. Also, Luscious and I commonly repair these by replacing the stator. I have not seen or heard of a dealer replacing only a stator, therefore, the dealer is probably the last place you want to take it.
