Well like I said, I don't expect everyone to agree with me but if you want proof that Toyota sell accessories that knowinly messes up your car, think TRD supercharger without the proper gauges, monitoring devices, and ignition control.

Depending on the car, I've used H&R, Tokiko illumina, Tien coilovers and Eibach. I've been lucky to piggyback off what other track racers has experienced to allow me to save $$ trying different combinations. I have yet to see an OEM shock survive or provide optimal performance being lowered more than .75 inches. If this does, maybe I'll eat my words but I'm just warning you guys.

 

If you do end up getting the TEIN SA coils, I suggest you get stiffer rate springs from Tein and have your shocks revalved to match the springs. I found this out the hard way and am having to take everything apart and sent back to Tein for the revalve. The stock SA coils are just too soft, only 4kg spring rates front and rear.

 

Hey Thanks! for the input. Isn't the stock setup alot softer than 4kg though? In context to your suggestion, do you mean that they're too soft for more aggressive driving or too soft in terms of comparing it to stock? I'm asking because in the end, I'm looking to keep ride feel close to stock. It's mostly my wife who will be driving it.

 

I have always liked a very firm ride and enjoy the constant feedback from the road through the suspension while driving. The stock Tein SA's are really good if you want a ride quality that is similar to stock if not better. When they are adjusted on full soft, the ride is very comfortable and yet still compliant as well. If you are looking for ride comfort and adjustability, I highly recommend the Tein SA coils. You won't be disappointed.

 

I'm reffering to trim level 5..not the Plus package...
The trim 5 Prius has different valved struts and an OEM rear sway IIRC

 

nope...Level 5 is the same as all the others..

 

2010 Toyota Prius Specifications
Rear had an OEM Sway for MY2010...I'm fairly sure I read the strut PN was different too somewhere..anyone have a 2010 brochure...Toyota shows 2 different part numbers for the front struts (per side)

 

Sweet. Just ordered them. Hopefully they'll be here soon. Only thing that sucks is I'm waiting on the Cusco FSB and front lower brace to come in from Japan. Backordered till mid Sept, so I won't be doing the install till I have all the parts. After the suspension is done, it'll either be the Chargespeed kit, the Fledermaus kit, or the Kenstyle. I haven't decided which one yet....

 

There is another Cusco chassis bar for the rear as well. I accidently stumbled upon it on juicedhybrid website. It doesn't show it as an item you can install on the Gen3. It's the rear bar for the prius V. If you look at the instructions link under the prius V rear bar site, it will also show that the 2010-2012 prius (ZVW30) is compatible with this bar. I've confirmed this with juicedhybrid and they are updating their website to reflect this change. The only downside is when installing the bar, you have to trim some of the plastic underneath. Other than that, the car feels better in the rear with this bar on.

I'm not happy with the trd springs, too much gap in the front, not quite as bad in the rear.
It makes the rims look smaller than they are
It seems like mine sits higher than the others with trd springs. BTW rims are 18" w/ 225/40's
Contemplating the Tein's or the Tanabe DF.
I want it to have the stance of Ragz' 2010.
Any opinions?

 

Looks good Kevin, not happy with mine looks like its 3/4 inch higher than yours I think my trd springs have an extra half a coil! lol

 

I too would like to go a little lower in the front.

 

Figured I'd add a pic of the TRD springs with a 205/50/17 tire. For some reason I don't have quite the gap that Billydon has despite us having the same size tire diameter ( 25.1"). Both our tires are larger than the 215/45/17 (24.7") so the gap should appear reduced slightly.

I'm going to have to update these pics when the rain stops. The car has settled and I can't insert a single finger between the tire and top of the wheel well without hitting tread or going at an angle (rear). The front is about 1.5 fingers high. EEK!

 

Is there a set of springs that will drop the back only and keep the front bumper exactly as high as it is now? Just adjusting the angle of the liftback.

The front bumper is plenty low to the ground for me already. I would even consider raising the front an inch or so to fix the angle if thats a thing.
