Hey all, in a former life I had a Honda S2000 when they first came out and we had a few group rides. Granted they are a little more sporty and quite a bit faster than our PIP's but we still have 4 wheels, 5 if you consider the one in front of the driver, so why dont we organize a drive. After all, were all located within the same few 14 states.... Where should we meet/go?
You could all come to Green Drive Expo - Bay Area. A few of us Priuschatters will be there. If Toyota does something special for the Prius experts and Priuschat moderators, some of them might be there too. They were last year, but then again, Toyota did a bunch of announcements last year (Toyota | Toyota Announces Pricing for All-New 2012 Prius v and Prius Plug-in Hybrid Vehicles). We also got to test drive the PiP, '12 HyCam and Prius v there.
Nah......to da corner of 14 n main street in Clawson, Michigan n back tu muh apt. shud use up 1/2 mile of EV
I typed that into google translator and it came back with an error then my laptop caught fire. Can someone please translate that and email it to me?
WE had something like that atat Schoolcraft college in Livonia Michigan And you could charge your car up at four Chargepoint stations for free Michigan Electric Autos
So.... as long as there were a few that we could hit along a journey that could be fun. Hardcore harley bikers stop at seedy dive bars. S2k'ers stop for breakfast at the Cracker Barrel then go to the track. Prii'ers hope from Chargepoint to Chargepoint (hopefully which are within walking distance to a pub)
when I went to the Schoolcraft College symposium I charged my pip four times on my journey there, didn't use a drop of petrol, but took 6 hours to get there. when It normally takes 45 minutes.
lol Funny how times have changed. Back in the day I would've bragged that I made that trip in 25 or 30 mins in my Nitrous injected Mustang. Now I have a Prius and I post status' on facebook saying I just got 359 mpg on my last trip.
LOL! And, would you seriously want to wait 1.5 hours at each charging station just to get the 11-15 miles of EV?
I was actually going to just comment on that... Depending on how many people go, we may need quite a few outlets if we choose to do it electrically. Lets brainstorm, what type of businesses will have numerous outlets on the outside of their building? Will these business willingly or unknowingly allow us to charge our cars?
When I left the symposium I had a fully charged PIP, took the expressway home in HV, when I got within 12 miles of home I switched to EV got 100 mpg for a 31.5 mile trip
^^^ You might find My Nissan Leaf Forum • View topic - Mexico to Canada via Electric Highway June 12-20, 2012 interesting. Keep in mind the Leaf's EPA rated range is 73 miles and he was able to use some (CHAdeMO) DC fast chargers in OR and WA but very few in CA. They take a Leaf from 0 to 80% in 30 minutes vs. ~7 or 8 hours using L2 (240 volt) charging.
study Chargepoint station locations and Plugshare locations for the most charging stations at their location
