Black center caps to match 2012 black alloy wheels

I ordered the center caps and then scuffed them with a scotch brite pad and painted them with Krylon Fusion plastic paint they turned out great!

 

I bought the toyota center caps with the toyota emblem off the bay (2009 Yaris ones which should fit based on measurements). I plan on masking the shiny chrome toyota raised emblem and painting the recessed background black for contrast. I will post pics once I get them and do the paint job.

 

Chrome Centre Caps (either Toyota or third party) might look good as-is: chrome-on-black. Or just following post #20 will save you bucks.

 

I originally intended to remove the paint from the toyota emblem but kind of like the all blacked out look now. A word of caution if you are using Krylon Fusion -- It works amazing on the plastic and STICKS so if you get it on parts you don't want there is a good chance you won't see the chrome again.

 

That's exactly what I bought....Krylon plastic....I am planning on using a genreous amount of masking tape to make sure it doesn't......just have to wait for the damn center caps to come in....

I just got a set of shiny chrome ones on ebay that fit perfectly. May not be perfect, but much better than holes, and they look like they belong. According to the part numbers, these are different from the 2010-2011 center caps.

 

Are these the ones sold on ebay and supposedly come from a 2009 Yaris? Look very similar to the ones I bought.

I don't know whether the Yaris caps fit - these are sold for the black 2012 Prius rims only. Different part number.

 

just in passing, i like the chrome inserts better (no offense) than the black. my reason is that the nuts are silver and center caps go better with them. but that is just me. either way they look a hell of a lot better than the plastic wheel covers.

 

I just placed an order for a new Prius, which I expect by the end of the month. Has anyone purchased these caps on eBay:

They seem pretty sharp to me. Also, could anyone confirm if these measurements are ok for the Prius alloy wheels?

as reference in another thread here I used an 1 1/2" knock out from home cheapo' and painted them.

I used a matalic white but you can allways paint them blk.

 

Yes, it's the size of the hubs on my 2013 Prius v five with the 17 inch alloy wheels and 5x114 bolt pattern.
EDIT: I may have mispoke. I measured the ID (inner diameter), of the wheel hub at the outermost area (where the cap fit into). The wheel actually centers on a 60mm portion of the hub and the wheel center cap clips slip over a small raised area that is 60mm. The rest of the ID of the hub is relieved to 62mm. I hope this is not confusing.
Does this mean that a cap size is called 60mm or 62mm? I do not know. They are available in both sizes. Perhaps someone else will know. Again, the cap rests in an initial 62mm bore (ID), but snaps into and over an internal 60mm raised land. On the other end, the ID is 60mm where it fits on the spindle.

 

I did the knockouts painted, resin decals, and black lugs. Stock wheels that don't look stock.

 

Awesome looking wheels for stock. We ordered the chrome caps and will install them tomorrow. I gave a little thought to what it would look like with chrome beauty rings, but not sure. After the snowy winter passes, we plan on getting new rims and tires.
