First thing I did was remove the ugly silver plastic wheel covers.

Decided that Black & Silver combo looked best... so I went to work first on the wheels..Taping off the chrome center cap..

1st of 4 done .. 2 drying still with tape on center still

Finished and liking it. Will try to upgrade to 18" at some point in future. First need to look at options for lowering the prius...removing the gap between wheels and fender.

Think its the best color for the car...

Black Plasti-Dip grille.. removed it beforehand to ensure thoroughly coated. Heard this can peel off if not sprayed on well.

Wasn't happy with the yellow color of the DDM 3000k HID kit...added Lamin-X yellow foglight overlays. Love the look and color now.

Seem like it'd look pretty cool if you vinyled the spoiler and rear hatch and added a black bumper protector too?

Looks really sweet! (y) I love the black roof, I agree with PriusCamper, wrap or paint the spoiler black too. Drop it on some H&R springs, and add some red vinyl on the rear lamps -- it'll be complete... atleast for a while. ;) Once the mod bug gets you, theres no going back!

I was contemplating the spoiler...whether to go black or carbon fiber.. and adding the 'tinted' look to the taillights like the '04 & '05 models...

Yeah... Those tail lights are definitely the ugliest part of the Prius GenII design.... I've seen on here a shop in I think New Jersey that paints 'em...

Also vinyl covers is a good way to go. I'm new here but I've seen that these folks reccomended for that: Metro Decals

I really like the tinted tail light look. Can't decide if i should tint or what... Guess if i tinted them...the tops to blend in the back window..and i didn't like it. I could always remove it. Makes the back window blend in better.

If I paint them... like the roof, might make it harder to sell later if its a pain to remove.

This is what I want my taillights to look like:

I can't remember what member's Prius I saw the picture but ever since I saw this picture I wanted to make mine look just like it. Here's his original picture:

This is a great thread... Looking forward to seeing more of everyone's ideas.

As for the tail lights above I'm still thinking I want to go with red at the bottom, clear in the middle and black at the top. Maybe add an after market full width brake light strip under the spoiler to make up for the lost brake lights because I want the top section of the tail lights to be tinted as dark as possible to match the glass in between the tail lights.

And thanks to this thread I think when rock chips get really bad I'm gonna turn hood, roof, spoiler and hatch black... Then add some window tint that matches the cars original silver green and add some black wheels and ground effects... Wonder how I'm gonna pay for all that? :)

G'day! Nice modifications, man! It's fun, yeah? :)

Daves09prius: That's bino's old Prius. I too was inspired by his taste in mods that I almost did the same to my '07 of the same colour. The only difference is that my TE37s are 16" and my lights aren't smoked. Though I just salvaged some parts off an '05 which has the smoked brake lights which I'm planning to swap soon. : ) I also did the blackening of the grill which I've always done previously on my previous cars. You might want to blacken the small vertical slats that support the horizontal one as it can still look silver if viewed from the front and at an angle. :)

and this video makes it look soooo easy!!! (I'm sure this has been posted b4) Thanks to Carolyn from Luscious Garage reveals that the labor to remove the assembly is not much greater than for the bulb itself, i.e. not nearly as big a deal as the dealer suggests.
