Do they make a bra for the 2012 Prius?

Yes there is a difference with the MY 2011 and 2012 front ends. The overall shapes are the same but the lower grill opening and turn signals/DRL's, fog lights are in different spots and they are shaped different from the MY 2010-2011 on the 2012's.

Or you can tack some contact paper all over the front end.... I actually have heard of people doing it in a pinch. Might be Ok for bug guts but for stones? I doubt it.

Yes there is, it's called a 3M Clear Bra. I had my entire front ended done to protect it.

 

A 3M Clear Bra is not temporary it's semi-permanent until you damage it or replace it.

Calling it temporary makes it sound like it needs to be taken off after a few days or weeks. Yes you can take it off to replace or repair it but in all the cars I have had the used the product on I've never replaced it for reasons other than damage.

Personally I prefer to use the 3M Venture Shield, it's similar to the regular 3M but is very smooth and doesn't have the orange peel effect that the plain 3M does.

I think the OP is looking for one of the black vinyl bras that you can put on and take off as needed. They are ugly and once they get wet if left on the car it will damage the paint. Especially if the finish gets dirty underneath the bra.
A clear bra eliminates any of this nonsense but I don't recommend you try and install it yourself, get a professional!
